So I read about people letting their bunnies play in the snow, but before I toss my bunnies out into a snow drift I asked a few more questions on how people do this. Since it's so windy and cold out I brought a cage bottom filled with snow into the bunny play room. Bo and Ani had first dibs and though they had some fun it was Baby who had a BLAST! Here are a few pictures from this afternoons first time ever dnow play session! Bo Digging - Ani playing - Both Buns This little guy's captions is "HELP ME!" "Here he comes Distroyer of the snowpeople! run, run little snow people!" Eat their heads off! "wwhhhaaahahahahaaaaa" "That stuff makes my bum cold" Snowbox kisses And don't laugh to hard, i don't want him to hear you... Baby's Snow Binkies! And a Video of Baby the Snowman Killer video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=1795394251373854889&hl=en-CA

I don't think I've ever seen anyone bring snow in their house. Usually they let their pets outside to experience snow. It seems like they liked it.

Bo lived outside and he's seen snow, I think Ani may have also. But Jackpot & Baby never have. I had to pull baby out of the snow box to have dinner, he was having to much fun in there. It's suposed to snow more tomorrow, but then go into ice rain, then this weekend rain (yuck), so it's going to be a real mess. I'm guessing they won't get to experiance snow outside, not with this crappy weather we are having.
Baby ate alot of snow, he had fun killing all the snow people i made him.

Such fun to watch, I'm sure! The pictures were great! You have funny bunnies! (I was going to write "fun buns" but I thought better of it! ;D) I just love to look at Aniseed. Question: when you talk about "binkies" what do you mean??

Question: when you talk about "binkies" what do you mean?? Thanks heheeh fun buns, they are though. So much entertainment, though trouble too if your not keeping an eye on them. Ani is the princess bunny with additude, she can be such a *B* sometimes, chasing, grunting and lunging, though so sweet and cute other times. It seems she's very protective and dominant. The "Binky" - www.paperglyphs.com/rabbits/rabbittalk_binkies.htmlRyan tried to tell me I was crazy and there was no such word and Binky... well i proved him wrong with this web site, now he just says all rabbit people are crazy and theres no such word as Binky LOL Though he admits when the bunnies 'do that thing' is sure is cute.

>> I was going to write "fun buns" but I thought better of it << hehehe A term I've used. . . >> Did You Say Binky? The happiest rabbit expression is commonly called a "binky." It's impossible to mistake for anything else, and the first time you see one you will probably wonder if the poor thing is having a convulsion. When a rabbit binkies, it jumps into the air and twists its head and body in opposite directions (sometimes twice) before falling back to the ground. This can be done while standing in one place, or while running, which is really weird looking, and is sometimes called the "happy bunny dance." A rabbit can even turn 180o in midair. All this is a rabbit's way of telling you straight out that it is happy and overall pleased with you and its life. Some rabbits binky a lot and some hardly at all, even if they are being treated well. Everyone has their own temperment. Marvin does the happy bunny dance. Yipee! 245K movie A common variation, which you can easily do too, is the half-binky, also called a head flick or ear flick. Instead of twisting the whole body, just the head is quickly turned sideways and back. This is still a pretty impressive sight in a creature with ears longer than its head! A head flick can be performed while running, or when sitting in place. A head flick is similar in meaning to a shudder, but is a little more playful and silly. It differs in presentation from the "I'd rather not" ear wobble, because it's much faster and often includes a slight rearing up by lifting the front feet. You can do a head flick too, by quickly dropping your head sideways and then back up, with a bit of a twist. If you have long hair that gets flung, your rabbit is even more sure to get the message. Some happy rabbits will head flick back at you to show that they share your happiness. It's always nice to answer a head flick in kind. If you want to go for the full binky, your rabbit will understand if you jump up a little in one place while doing a head flick. I recommend you don't try to twist your body in mid-air like a rabbit will, especially if there is any furniture around, you have a history of back problems, or are over 45 years old. Trust me on this one. << www.muridae.com/rabbits/rabbittalk_binkies.htmlI assume they are akin to popcorning with GPs.

Hmmm. . . . looks like DF didn't check out Andrea's link before posting his link--both go to the very same authoritative guide to the binky! ;D

They are two different URLs. And hers wouldn't come up for me, not after five minutes of waiting.

But isn't it in effect the same thing as popcorning with guinea pigs? Seems to be.

I'm sure it's probably the same, just rabbits have more movement and their ears flop all over. It's funny how different animals have funny dances to show they are happy. My Friends ferret used to chase me around the house doing a happy ferret dance, well they do it with their mouth open and spitting, ya scarey! LOL
