The girls are doing very well. Man are they super fun and sweet. Everytime I bend over when i'm kneeling Mittens jumps on my back LOL she is just to adorable. I think I'm getting a little attached to these two which isn't so good. I had them upstairs a couple nights ago for the first time, and they had a blast running around the house, checking new things out, playing with toys and the dog! After a while though you could tell Ebony's back end was getting tired, so I put them back in their pen, I didn't want Ebony to hurt herself. She keeps climbing with her front paws up the side of the pen, and when she gets fully erect she can't balance and falls right over backwards it's so sad, and hard for her to upright herself again, poor girl.

Well the girls played outside fot their first time today... and i have some photos i will upload later No one is quite sure what is wrong with Ebony. Suposably the Vet said she had a small puncture in her leg from a would a while back, but it wasn't a big deal. Also the X-Rays show nothing. SARS cannot afford tests (unless it's a matter ergency), but I'm pretty positive she has Encephalitozoon Cuniculi, a parasite she would have gotten from her mother as a baby. It's very common in rabbits and many don't show signs at all, while others have things like convulsions, tremors, head tilt, hind limb weakness, coma, urinary incontinence and/or Loss of balance. Ebony would be the head tilt (she sways) and hind limb weakness. This is not contagious now, but would have been when she was younger. Mittens was not from the same litter so she may not have it. Really in most rabbits it's not a huge deal, but still something responcible breeders should be watching out for and testing for on a regular basis.

Wow.
But is it progressive? Will she get worse?

That I don't know. I never read anything on if it got worse or not. So my guess is it dosn't get worse and it doesn't get better. The area to the brain has been damaged by the parasite.

Yes, she does very well and it dosn't seem to cause her pain. It's just sad to see her try adn sit up on her hind legs and fall over backwards and not be able to get up very well, or just her trying to run around and she can't go in a straight line. But she manages, heck she even humps her sister!

So long as she is in no distress or pain! Sorry if some of those descriptions struck me as comical.
