He's all of the above LOL.... This is PitStop AKA Pitters PitStop came to me specifically for Ebony my handicap bunny, he was chosen to be her companion. When Ebony's little body failed her and she had to leave us in November I had the choice to bring PitStop back to his original foster home (Who loved him very much) or keep him here with us. I believe PitStop was my gift from Ebony, and I couldn't think of ever letting him go. PitStop is such an amazing little bunny with so much character. Pitters lives next door to Mittens & Kyoto as it was my thought to try and bond the three together (so far no luck) but whenever Ryan or I are home PitStop has the run of our entire upper floor of our home, this is where he is 'my cat'. He's my boyfriend because he loves me so very much and doesn't feel he needs a rabbit companion, he has me LOL And he's my Son because I love him like a child. PitStop comes for car rides with me and sits in the passenger seat. PitStop can't be fully adopted because he has teeth issues which will cost much in surgeries and other dental procedures. So we call him my Forever Foster. PitStop's story was he was found in his small cage dumped on the side of a busy road in a rain storm Now he lives the life of luxury LOL... Here are some pictures of my beautiful boy, who's only about 2 lbs. Playing with a paper tube Grooming is new 'friend' The usual pose - "Pet me Pet me!"

Aw, PitStop is very cute and I still can't believe people do this to their pets. Shameful, thankfully there are people like you who help them out and take care of them. I'm sure you're their guardian angel on Earth.

>> And he's my Son because I love him like a child. << I feel that way about any critter born here, such as the rats and a few guinea pigs. >> PitStop can't be fully adopted because he has teeth issues which will cost much in surgeries and other dental procedures. << That's why I can't be adopted either. So what is with his teeth? I mean, does he have a special diet forever? >> He's my boyfriend because he loves me so very much and doesn't feel he needs a rabbit companion, << Very sweet. You are both lucky to have each other.

Lucky bunny, indeed. And so cute! I like the part about riding in the passenger seat. . .
So SARS has rules about adoption such that animals with potentially expensive conditions can't be adopted? But what if someone wanted to take such an animal with clear understanding of the financial implications?

That's why I can't be adopted either. Are we supposed to laugh at the wry humor--or feel badly for you??

Take your pick. But the fact is if there was one genetic characteristic I inherited from my mom I wish I did NOT get it was teeth. They have always been high maintenance.

If a wonderful home came by and understood the financial burden a particular rabbit will become, we would of course adopt out to them, we have with handicap bunnies and such in the past. Some people actually ask for special needs bunnies. PitStop sees the Vet tomorrow to have his teeth looked at, this will be a second opinion. Mittens is also getting her teeth checked and will have some samples of her infection taken and run. Busy day tomorrow.

>> Some people actually ask for special needs bunnies. << Although there was no cost, I loved getting some special needs gerbils including Drumstick (long gone) with no back legs, and Enjo with the locked forepaw and splayed out back leg. She is fine with Suzie a white (Enjoy is agouti color). She has been around for some time. I got the name from Hollie on this forum. A Search here will reveal the story. Best wishes for tomorrow. I heard rabbits (and GPs) have problems with their molars without hay to wear them appropriately.
