Do any of you guys keep tropical fish? I have brought a tank and at the moment it's currently going through the Nitrogen Cycle.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any general advice.
The fish I will be starting out with will be Zebra Danios and Platies

Where DO you find the space?! I had fish MANY years ago. I guess I overfed them, and the water smelled a bit, and one flipped out despite a guard over the top. I found it mummified years later behind a dresser! My best advice is DON'T OVER FEED!

Fish are not the smartest critters around - they'll eat all the food you put in the tank, even if they're not hungry. Overfeeding is probably the biggest cause of death among fish owners. And if they don't manage to eat it all before it starts to disintergrate, then you end up with potential food for microbes and algae.
The main thing is to keep the tank clean, and the water fresh.

Calvinator pretty much hit the nail on the head. Do weekly water changes, if you don't trust your water use spring water, DO NOT use distilled water. Allow your fish to acclimate to the water. When you bring them home in the baggie let the baggie sit in the water for 30 min to 1 hour, the temp will slowly even out and the fish can get used to it. then put a small slit in the bag to allow some tank water to mix in with baggie water, the fish can then adjust to the water itself. Fish keeping is really about water keeping. You keep the water and the water will keep the fish. Cognac
