They are a beautiful breed and rare outside their native Moscow. This is what they look like: images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=Moscow Beautiful huh!? And if some people didn't know any better, don't you think they can be mistaken for St. Bernards? Thought I'd share. I'm just doing some screensavers & looking up breeds I love.

Yes, they resemble St Bernards. My deceased old aunt had dogs, Kubush and Mitzi; she was the mother of Kubush. Both were medium sized black mixes, and she was old when I saw her first. I have to find and organize my photos - more to do. After they passed on, she got a cute little pup at a show, who turned out to be a St Bernard that ended up bigger than she was! By the time she died (her husband having died years earlier) all her dogs were gone too. My parents spent a lot of time there, in Michigan, attending to her business, and her sickness. I think it started my mother on her decline.
I suppose purebreeds are really mixes but with very controlled breeding and genetics.

Well, it's not Monday night, but I can answer.
Yeah, St. Bernards are big dogs! There was one at the kennel where I used to work, but she was bo-legged (sp) and shy. I'm sorry about your aunt dieing.
