I was "social"?? I sat there listening to these much older people and I never said a word. I just thought I was well-behaved - and analytical! ;D

The horror! I implied that DF was "social"! ;D I used that word to describe myself, but in the context of the discussion I should have used the word "shy." I hid in books because I was shy. I would never have listened to the adults--my parents would have had to force me to even say hi to those adults!

Let me try to find the perfect word for me. . . in that situation. . .
bemused? nope.
shy? nope.
introspective? possibly.
intrigued? yes.
analytical? yes!
precocious? likely.
I just sat there mentally analyzing the discussion which was about stuff and people I knew nothing about. Oddly, I enjoyed it.

Susan's response to the toothy issue raised above in this thread:
>> Haaaaa ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa! That IS funny! No, no veneers. I ain't got no fake stuff nowheres on me. My teeth just look funny in the Dante photo, I guess. I'll have to take a closer look at the original. The gaping gecko is a Tokay Gecko, the gecko most detested by pet store employees for their nasty demeanor - they bite pretty much anything that comes within striking distance, and HARD (often drawing blood), and they don't let go right away! Steve Irwin (RIP) would make a joke out of letting them bite onto and hang from his earlobes like earrings. Yeah, so I didn't have to coax him to gape like that, he was trying to attack me as a true Tokay should. Lol. I have gotten the ASPCA Anne Marie Lucas comparison many times. I can only take it as a compliment. She does a lot of good, and she ain't too shabby to look at either. I enjoyed perusing the thread. Tell all you pals: Thanks for the compliments! (:

Well, now we know! ;D
I need to tell my boyfriend that not all geckos are as placid as his friend on TV. . .

She is holding that gecko right behind the neck to prevent bites, as one would hold a snake. Gotta know your critters! Should have seen her years ago trim the tiny over grown claws of a dwarf hamster with just her own hands (no help from me). Snip, snip!
