After the ASPCA Day at Green-Wood Cemetery (see Animal News), I got a Habitrail Mini for some of my fancy mice. I have too many females so I put six male fancies in there.
These Habitrails are always tricky to put together, but this wone had new features. A curious waterbottle shapped sort of like an upside down mushroom: the water settles from the bottle into three tiny "pools".
They have a clear suspended wheel; it hangs from the top bars freely. When running in it (assuming they ever do) the wheels moves around.
There is also an odd-looking tube and nesting area thing.
OK, I couldn't find any good pictures of this thing so I just took some - and saw the mice loving the suspended wheel and running like crazy in it.
I will post photos shortly.

This sounds as though it will be interesting to see!

I added on the left side in the front a plastic townhouse which they had been using in a tank; there was room. Photo coming below, but without the townhouse. I will add on a tube and loft later.

Awwww. The Habitrail Mini is so cute! Friends of mine had one, so I've seen the parts. I like the colours too.

They can crawl up into the yellow mushroom via a clear tube at the bottom, or hop in through a hole.
today I added a long tube and a "loft" hideout on the right side; I keep it coveredm with some thin but dark cloth, for privacy.
That suspened wheel actually seems to work, and they like it.
BTW, this thing freed up a 10 gallon tank and screen or some gerbs, so it wasn't like I was splurging.

I've always found the Habitrails to be reasonable in price and good value. The cages anyways. Once you start added alot of tubes and parts it gets expensive!

I had the tube; the loft cost ten bucks. BTW, that Habitrail Safari cage I found abandoned last Winter is still in use, and now home to two Spiny's - and a pup I just noticed was there!! ;D

I found a bird cage abandoned on the side of the road, about a block away from me a few weeks ago. Don't have any use for it, but it was a nice cage!!
Glad you're getting use out of the Safari!

I have a big long round bird cage in storage, and another macaw-sized on also ready to go. Now I only need the birds!
