After Moshis death I was been think that I will definitly get a syrian for my next hamster. (If I ever get another hamster) But I only have CT cages. And I think it pointless to get another cage if I already have like 3. And ive heard that the tubs in it are to small for syrians. From expiriance are the cages going to be fine? Any sugestion on which on i should use? I Mainly use this cage.

If you still have your cat I advise you to get none.
A CT2 is OK if plenty of time outside for play is given - a stupid idea with a cat around. The first one looks like a CT2 connected to another cage, which itself should be enough room, maybe.

Yes my cat is still around. But the only reason my old old hamster got killed is because I was a little to careless with the tubing. She will only kill a thing if its on the floor crawling. Wgich is why i like to put the cages on a small table. Also the cat wont just attach the cage. She thinks shes to smart to do something like that.
But im sure I will have a little more play time with him/her. Ill try and look for a small short haired syrian. But thanks^^

If you have a cat who has allready killed one of your pets in a cage, I would either not get another small animal, or get a tank with a good strong lid (and keep the cat away of course). Capri lived in a home with a cat, she and her brother & sister lived in a cage. The cat killed her sister through the cage bars, and ate both her and her brothers tails off. All Through the cage bars. I lived with two cats and my gerbils when i was a teenager and a cat and hamsters when i was a child. We can't blame the cats/dogs, as it's their nature. It's our responcibility to make sure our pets are safe from one another. I do believe we can have cat's & rodents in the same home, but we have to take more precautions, spend more money to keep everyone healthy & safe.

well Shadow (the cat) killed sasuke because im guessing he was running on the floor. I attached to cages together, but i guess someone nocked off the tub. So sasuke wondered out and shadow just found her. Of corse thats not the only hamster killed with a likely cause of shadow.
Dont as i said before i have thought of every posible thing that i can keep all my hammies safe. On a night stand just big enough to fit the cage so she cant get on the night stand also. Cage is coverd with a towel most of the time so any of my other pets cant see the hamster. Aginst the wall so the cage cant get nocked down. Dont worry about a thing about the cat or anything.
I just would like to know if the tubs in a CT are big enough for syrians. The main reason i want a syrian is because hopfully a syrian would be better. So my parents can care a little more for hamsters. And so I can deturmen the differences in syrian than in dwarfs.

I used to have a few of those tubes for my Syrian Hammy, Rollo. But I wouldn't use them with the Syriamn I haev now, she's HUGE. SO my personal opinion would be, it really depends on the overall size of the hammy. I probably wouldn't put a long hair in the tubes, i'd be afriad of the hair getting caught in the conecting parts.

I think syrians are very safe in CT's regardless of what people have said. Sophie was a syrian and I had for her a CT1 & a CT2 connected together and she did just fine. Never got stuck in the tubes and she used the bars for chewing, since she liked no other toy. I think CT's are great.

I've read you can connect CT cages so there is room for a Syrian.
