That looks very neat and clean! Not disturbing at all. So what happened to Frankenfurterstein (what's his/her name?) and why was the surgery needed? Right along the spine it is. What could it be. . . Didn't know you wore loafers, assuming that's you. Love the parque floor, reminiscent of the famed floor at the Boston Garden where the Celtics play. Everybody has such clean floors except me. (Want to see my hernia scar?).

It's Gretchen, and she lives in Dallas with my sister and her husband (those are my sister's shoes). My sister is a horrible neatnick, hence the clean floors.
She had a slipped disk that needed surgery immediately. She is responding well and now able to walk.

Yea, I never figured you for loafers.
I was a horrible neatnick, almost compulsive, dusting twice a day. . . until I just got too busy with too many things including 27 (now 26) animals. Whew.
Gretchen is a very nice name. Slipped disc! Never figured dogs got that, but what do I know?!

My sister is just a tad too Dallas. The little black dog has Texas Stars on his collar.
Her other two are named Hans and Ginger. She had 2 named Inga and Heidi, who died of kidney failure a few years ago. When we were little, we had 2 dachshunds - Gretel and Heidi.

Stars? Sounds like also an ongoing Germanic theme in Big D - I assume Brunhilde and Siegfried are next.
I don't suppose Gretchen is any relation to the dachshunds you already mentioned you grew up with?

Nope - no relation. German names are pretty common for dachshunds. I don't think my sister would use opera names - she is a little too normal for that (yes, there is one normal person in my family...)

Ah, yes. Dachshunds result in Germanic names. I do suppose 'Pierre' or 'Carlita' as names would be incongruous for them. Makes one wonder if Newfies and Labs get Canadian names. . . etc. ;D Wait a minute here. I thought there was something odd. Either your sister has an extremely small foot, or that is the biggest dachshund I have ever seen, with the longest legs. Perhaps I am used to some miniature variety? (??). Or is Gretchen a mix?? Dachshunds

Gretchen is pretty big - she's a full sized standard dachshund - not a miniature. My sister's foot is size 7.

Funny all the dachshunds I have ever seen were a lot smaller than Gretchen, and they weren't puppies. Well, so long as she's happy and her discs aren't slipping.
