>> Our Walk in The Park will begin promptly at 9:30 A.M. and end with a fun Finish Line Festival. Complete with family entertainment, food & local pet businesses, it's a perfect way to celebrate the unique relationship between people and their pets.
All funds raised will support the creation of a Humane Community right here in New York City. Learn how we plan to create that community—one in which pets are respected and protected, and all residents work together to ensure the humane treatment of animals, prevent animal cruelty, and provide education to enhance the human-animal bond. <<
>> Animal Planet and the ASPCA invite you to support the care and adoption of healthy shelter animals. Join Animal Precinct star and animal hero Annemarie Lucas, other humane officers and pet lovers to raise awareness of this important cause. Help shelter animals in need by walking in the first ever ASPCA Central Park Dog Walk on June 3. <<
Hope the weather holds.

It was originally scheduled for June 3, and got rained out due to flooding in the park. I suspect the show will go on today, and will bring my umbrella. Eli raised $150 for this event.

You, Eli, and his tailor, are indeed great fund raisers. Now, can television be next, like it was for Alba Ballard and her parrots? I had read it was rescheduled. Terribly humid day, but the rain seems to be holding off at least. Hope you're both having fun.

Well, the walk was fun, but the turnout was not very good, unfortunately, due to the rainy weather. Eli was filmed for Animal Precinct though, as they asked me questions about his clothes (while I was dressing him). He was also photographed by the NY Daily News. There was a really talented artists who did a cartoon portrait of us which came out great! Here are some photos - of him with Animal Precinct Officer Raheb and a few others in his new sailor outfit...

If you two showed up the the Green-Wood Bergh celebrations you'd have stopped the show. A couple of cats being carried like papooses drew a big crowd; two police horses were very popular; a dog in a sailor suit would surely be the center of attention. How big is Eli's wardrobe now? He has two sailor outfits I assume. So what's next? An Elvis outfit? Too campy. Antlers at Christmas? Done it (RIP Puck). Bad break about the weather, for a second time. I was out this afternoon and it was like walking underwater it was so humid. Blech. So maybe next year it will be sunny, 70 degrees, with no humidity. >> There was a really talented artists who did a cartoon portrait of us which came out great! << Well?? You didn't take a photo?? A caricature or a straight cartoon? How about a photo of you two - with the heads switched? Funny - or too kitschy? Seems like you had a nice enough time, though. Hope the ASPCA raised some money. Maybe a little rest for Eli now? I actually gave a passing thought to going with my camera, but the weather killed that idea fast. Too busy anyway, as you know. I enjoyed taking photos of all the dogs at G-W, including those walking to his memorial - including a shaved Afghan, which looked odd, but I assume was cool (the apparent purpose?). Animal officers with the ASPCA often were mounted and canine police who had such a love for animals they joined the ASPCA upon retirement. See if you can, please, post up that cartoon, and I will check for you in the Daily News tomorrow. BTW, do ever ever get tired going out with Eli? Nah. Stupid question! Oh, I saw four weineratiels at a local place. A few are very tame and fiendly. Just maybe. . . later.

Weinerateil - a phallus with a beak? Ouch. - - - - - - - - - - - Anyway, here is a little test: Which arm is the GOOD arm? Which is the BAD arm? And who belongs to each? (Don't get political; I'll delete it. But that was a hint). I guess I'm an "arm man" at heart. I think I will do the Eye Thing next. In Members Only.
