The Crocidile Hunter, Steve Irwin, died of a stringray barb going through his chest. I know I'm shocked and this is very sad. He did great things for animals and you could tell he loved his wife and kids very much. He will be missed. Full article: www.sabcnews.com/world/asia1pacific/0,2172,134230,00.html

I posted this already in the Animal News forum with a photo and articles. Shocking and inconceivable way to die. Stingrays supposedly do not do this. Yeah, they're supposed to be gentle. Oh I'm sorry. I didn't see it in the Animal News. Why is it there?...it's not an animal that died.

Anyone remember Marlin Perkins? Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom? Jim Fowler was the co-host. Each of them went into the wild and wrestled or captured animals. Perkins was in his sixties with white hair and he still could be seen getting right into the battle to trap an animal (to save, treat, or relocated it). Those two guys were also very popular in their day. www.wildkingdom.com/nostalgia/history.html
