I am also back from getting a new ISP, and that was a headache. But the Cat Show at Madison Square Garden was great. I was there Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and the final results were out Sunday. I told you about the AKC Dog Show in February which was bigger for obvious reasons - the dogs are themselves much bigger and need to perform in rings; that is part of the judging process. Cat performance and obedience is optional in an Agility Ring, which is much fun. But as for judging all cats are expected to be tame and cooperative, and they are. So, the main arena of MSG was not used for the cats, and grooming was also simpler, again owing to size. The Cat Fanciers Association, www.cfa.org, lists 41 separate registered breeds, and has much information on the events and on cats. I am now rather expert on cat breeds and types. Of the 41 breeds only two love water - Egyptian Maus and Turkish Van. The Occicat looks just like a little tame ocelot, and the Sphinx is hairless. THE WINNER!!Above is the link to the winner's story. The Japanese Bobtail I saw win a preliminary round Saturday. BTW, I came away with a lot of free cat food from Iams! I will try to post some photos later as time permits.

I only know some cat breeds, but that's cool that you learned something there. In one of my stories I used the Sphinx. Sorry, but the winner in my opinion isn't as cute. Glad you had fun! Meow. Hehe.

As cute as what? The Sphinx? I didn't think these hairless cats were cute at all, but I liked them.
Photos soon. . .

It just wasn't as cute as say a tabby cat or a calico. It just had this weird looking face. I'm a stickler with cuteness especially with non-living things.

I Don't like the Japanese bobtail breed, But the cat on the photo has the winner-look all over with her big beautiful eyes..It's as if she has eye-liner around her eyes My perfect cat is a Mix of Sphynx/persian and Maine Coon. The sphynx for temperament and personality, the persian too, but also for the looks. The maine coon only for the physical appearance Sphynx-cats are the sweetest cats there are, at least in my opinion..They love company, A friend of mine has a few sphynx-cats and when we have a sleep-over the cats come in the bed-room to sleep on the beds. 2 of them always sleep under the blanket...You never have cold feet over there

Do Sphinx lick themselves like other cats? I would think not as they have no fur and have different cleaning needs. The Maine coon was the biggest cat at about 20 pounds, some a bit larger. I would think feral ones of violent temperment could handle big mean wild rats. >> My perfect cat is a Mix of Sphynx/persian and Maine Coon. << Photo?? Mine are coming soon. . .

Ok, I'm going to be contrary here and say that the winner didn't do much for me--but neither does any cat. I don't think cats are cute--sorry! I get along with them, will pet and play with them, etc., but I would never own one.
I await the arrows. . .
