www.smallanimalrescue.org/From Out site - About Us The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC or SARS BC is a provincially & federally registered non-profit organization (Our charity number is 86169 0436 RR0001) comprised of volunteers and services throughout British Columbia/Canada.
Everyone one with SARS BC is a volunteer and no one is paid to work with the animals. Our primary focus is to rescue and rehome any small animal in need. Neglected, injured and abandoned animals are our primary focus.
Unfortunately due to the sheer number of unwanted small animals we can only consider taking in "owner surrendered" animals if we have a foster home available. We will however help owners to rehome thier animals in every way possible.
We are a virtual rescue - meaning that we do not have a physical shelter at this point. Instead, we rely on a network of volunteer foster parents that take care of the animals in their homes. That way the animals get a lot of one on one attention and the special care they all deserve.
SARS BC was founded in October 2004 and we have since found around 300 forever homes for small animals in need and we currently have many more in rescue who are patiently waiting for their turn to find a wonderful new home. Don't breed or buy while homeless pets die! Opt to Adopt!

BC!!! Well guess who else is from BC? Yes that's right. None other than Yours Truly. hehe. I'm in Victoria. I wish there was some way I could help, but being that I dont' have my own home, and already have 5 hamsters in my tiny bachelor suite, I can't take in any more animals right now. I am glad to know about SARS BC though. Thank you very much!! And we're obviously neighbours in a sense!

We have volunteers on the Island! I had been interested in soem time to volunteer and help out, but I wasn't able to foster untill we bought our own place last November, as soon as we were moved in, I had my applications e-mailed LOL We send some animals to and from the island also, even Penticton and kelowna too. So even if you are not able to foster, i'm sure if they have fund raisers or bunny rescues you could come out for them. We're doing a bunny rescue this Saturday, i went by the people place to see and there are 5 cutie baby bunnies living in their backyard. I never saw the Momma bun, but suposably she was "the Paper Boys" pet he let 'free'.

Small world, huh! Totally No, I'm unable to foster at this time (I only wish someday soon I will be able to), but if there's any other way I can help out, let me know. If there's a bunny rescue in Victoria and I can help, I'd be happy to. I'm also hoping to start volunteering at the SPCA here soon... as a dog walker or kennel cleaner or something. Probably just a couple of hours a week.

Here is the SARS BBS Forum - sarsbc.proboards32.com/index.cgiUsually this is where events are planned and such, plus you can get in contact with the other volunteers on the island. And of course their site has more info too. And yes it's totally a small world, i met a girl off of PawTalk who lives just down the street from me! crazy stuff.
