Finally: a hamster who will really use this ball I've had for years! I am not sure if I bought the ball for Critter. If I did, it got no use because she just sat there and tried to chew it. I actually thought that maybe my hams were somehow too light to propel it and so that's why they were chewing it. I say "they" because Pinky was the same way--he sat there and tried to chew the plastic. I know I just gave up on him and put the ball away. (I think I almost put it in the yard-sale pile when I cleaned out before moving here.) Anyway, I got Fuzz and tried him in the ball last spring or summer. A little improvement, but not much, so I kind of forgot about putting him in it--it didn't seem worth it. BUT: on a whim the other day I put him in it--and boy, did he go! Very impressive! So when there's an opportunity I've been putting him in it. Not sure what the difference is--he was 6 months last summer and is almost a year older now.

Cool, have fun Fuzz!! My one hamster, Sophie, loved to explore while in her ball and if she couldn't get into the living room, she'd either bang on the closet doors (cause they were shut) or bite her ball. She escaped that way once, but I saw it and caught her! Anyway, have fun Fuzz. Rollin', rollin', rollin', keep that Fuzz a rollin'. Sorry-had to throw that in.

Unfortunately, with all the rescued critters here there is not even room for a ball to roll more than a foot! Nice to hear Fuzz uses it, now. I have seen changes in preferences in many of my crew, and in Poppy the Rabbit.

Cute. It's funny how some critters just LOVE those balls, while others could care less. I have a few of those balls around, but I don't use them really, only because I have play pens. But my first two gerbils, Aphrodite and Valentawny, they both loved the balls and would chase our two cats around the house in the. Val was so great in it she could make turns around things and even stop on a dime so she wouldn't run into walls, it was amazing to watch. None of my other critters have been as superb in the ball as she was.
I was given a HUGE critter ball, one of these days I'm going to try a Degu in it.
(PS, I had some cute videos of Whizzer playing with her two gerbils in their balls)

I got a huge critter ball when I bought Poppy the bunny at a garage sale. Got a 20 gallon tank also, and some rabbit stuff. I think they tried to stuff the bun in there when very small. The pet store never should have sold it; I think it is for ferrets, or maybe a rat would use it. I have rats noiw so I should try it - when I have floor space! Since I got it I used it to hold gerbs and hams when I cleaned their cages. But I wonder what a rat would do.
