Well, for those of you who don't know I have a Minpin, and as of this past Thursday I have two. Peewee (my mom's 3yr old boy) was paper trained when we got him but we trained him to go outside when we moved. My second, Tucker, was also paper trained. I wasn't going to get him, but then I talked to the breeder and we worked out prices and such. (He was supposed to be her new show-dog and stand as stud but only one of his testicles dropped). I'm in the process of teaching him to go outside (which isn't a problem, just time consuming) only we were given a pee belt and aren't really sure how useful it is. I can see how it stops him from marking his territory around the house but I've never used one before. Anyone know how these goofy things are supposed to work?
EDIT: Tucker is a year old and getting neutered ASAP! Peewee got neutered when we got him as a puppy.

I've never heard of a pee-belt. What is it and what's it's supposed to do exactly?

I don't know if that's it's actual name. It's kind of like a diaper that covers the penis and is secured with Velcro. This is the top And this is the bottom (Please excuse Tucker, only half his manhood dropped) (I figured I could get past the censors because his penis is covered) It's got half a ladies sanitary pad in it, just in case he has an "accident". Basically what happens is if he has pees or tries to mark his territory, the pad catches the urine and I don't have to clean the house. Yes, it does look insanely stupid, and now you know why my dad has nicknamed my dog "One-Nut Tuck".

>> but only one of his testicles dropped << A friend of mine in grammar school had that problem. Why he told us I will never know! I've heard of a money belt. . . jpix.net/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=0We have had pompom competitions for the biggest hamster testicles. My Zeb always won. He is in this board, just do a search for him.

To me, those never work. Just like diapers for a dog, I don't think they do any good. If a dog has to go, he's just going to go through it. What I hear does work if that you put a, sorry I forget what they're called, but they're soft and rectangular and you can put them on the floor instead of using a newspaper. The dog goes on that, it absorbs it, and it's easy to just clean up and throw away.

>>I've heard of a money belt. . .<< I don't know what the real name for it is. We call it a pee belt, but the lady who made it calls it a jock strap...
>>I don't think they do any good. If a dog has to go, he's just going to go through it.<< I don't think it does much good training-wise, but it has stopped a few major cleanings of the couch and bedding. The pad in it catches almost all of the moisture, and then that is just changed. The whole thing of it is we don't want them peeing in the house at all. They have their run out the back where they can do their business.
>>We have had pompom competitions for the biggest hamster testicles<< I saw/read that!

>> >>We have had pompom competitions for the biggest hamster testicles<< I saw/read that! << Zeb was the next to last of the big litter I kept (rainy the mom) to pass away. All their photos are in the memorial gallery in my sig. Photos of them as babies have been posted; if you can't find them with a search ask with a PM I can repost. Very cute. I gave them all good homes with the help of several people who contributed many hundreds of dollars of stuff. So nice of them.

Well, Tucker has been having less accidents now. The only ones he's had lately are right in front of the door to go outside. So he knows where he's supposed to go and that he's not allowed to go in the house. His neutering is happening next weekend. (finally)
Meeks has pretty big pompoms, however I don't think they can beat Zeb. Darko's are hidden under all his hair!

Odd how rodents have such big ones. Wonder if female rodent ovaries are large too.

Maybe they do. Although ovaries aren't really seen...
