Yes, you read correct, Andrea the crazy has brought not one but TWO new rabbits into her home. And they are the cutest little bunnies ever!
SARSBC has not had a good month, we have had many rabbits and other animals come back from foster and ADOPTION homes, same ol excuses "We're moving" etc.
So Linus and Muffin are back into foster care after living in their 'adopted' home for a year They are the sweetest little guys and will be staying here with us for a month, until their more permanent foster home moves into their new place or maybe into a forever home, who will actually keep them 'forever'.
They are two Lion heads, Linus is the white/gray and Muffin is the dark gray.
Baby & Bubba saying "Welcome New Friends!"
Now as much as it makes me sad/mad that these guys and others have been re-surrendered, I am so glad the families brought them back to us, as our adoption contract requires. Because this month we got a call from the SPCA, as a rabbit had been found 'stray' and it's ear tattoo came up as a SARS bunny. Sure enough this little guy was adopted out 3 or so years ago, but from probably a volunteer who no longer is with us, and we are unable to find the paper work to who this bunny was adopted to, otherwise we would have them charged with animal abandonment.
The little bunny found had a broken leg, it was in so many pieces it could not be repaired, but had to be removed. Not only that but the SPCA gave SARS the bill for the initial emergency exam, and then we had to pay for the surgery and such afterwards.
So for anyone who volunteers with animal adoption, please, PLEASE check the homes the animals are going to throughly and make sure to get ALL the paper work. Whomever owned that little guy should not have been allowed to get away with what they have done
No matter how bad your situation is, abandoning an animal is never an option.
