I don't want to get nervous, but I have to ask this question as I'm not finding anything helpful on the internet. Chewie is peeing more than usual. Usually his little bathroom won't be soaked till Wednesday, when I clean it. It was soaked today a day earlier and I think was like that last week. Mom says it's because he's getting older and like humans, they go more often. I'm inclined to agree with that since he has no weight loss, still has as good appetite, hasn't lost any fur, his fur is shiny, his eyes are bright, he's still active, etc. So is it that he's just getting older? He's two and three months old; I love my baby very much. So if a trip to the vet is needed, then so be it, but I hope it won't be necessary. So please ease my fears and tell me it's just age.

You should have already called your vet on the phone and asked. Of course if he was already closed when you discovered this you could not.
All I know is about peeing more could mean diabetes. Old people do not pee more; they pee more often, or they pee in their pants and wear diapers.

If I thought it was serious I would've called my vet instead of coming here first. That being said, I did think of diabetes, but how do they get it?
Old people do not pee more; they pee more often ^Same thing really. If it continues like this I'll call my vet and ask them over the phone first before bringing Chewie in. Thanks.

>> Old people do not pee more; they pee more often ^Same thing really. << No it is not. Each pee is short and limited in quantity. Volume of each pee is less. How do they get diabetes? I am not sure about Syrians, but I would not feed dwarfs a diet mostly starch as starch gets turned into sugars in the mouth and stomach, as I have mentioned. Can excess sugar promote diabetes in Syrians? I do not know. But I would not have tried to find out. Read this: hamster.etla.org/web/diabetes.html

I did a lot of searching for syrians getting diabetes. Thanks for the website, what I read says the same thing it says. So I'm going to call our vet tomorrow and if you're wondering what I'm up so late for it's because I haven't held Chewie in awhile and want to hold him.
Thanks for the help.

Keep us posted.
And obviously, starchy foods--Chewie's diet--is terrible for diabetes.

The vet was closed today so I will call tomorrow after work. If Chewie does have diabetes, than I will see what we can feed him. But for right now he's fine.
