Okay so every night or so I wake up and Josh is always falling asleep downstairs. So if I know he's sleeping I turn off the tv and lights and check on Chewie. But I didn't need to since he was running on his wheel, so I went back upstairs. Later Josh wakes up and joins me and I keep thinking that I didn't see my baby when I went to check on him although I knew he was alright. A voice in my head told me to check on him. Nah, I said he's fine. The voice was persistent and I kept saying "No" to it. Finally a third one came to me telling me to check on Chewie!! Well thank God that I did because he was half way out of his CT2! He popped one of the tops I have for him and was on his way out. I grabbed him just in time before he fell and taped everything up. He is now safe and sound and will never escape again! I definitely have to thank God cause He was telling me to go down. When God tells you to do or don't do something you listen as I found out yet again. Phew what a scare, but my baby is once again safe in his little home.

That little voice in our head is almost right every time, I always ignore it and then regret it afterwards.
I'm glad to hear your little fella didn't go on an adventure around the house without you.

Fascinating! The voice in my head told me to stop working out at the gym and run home to see if I locked the front door! I had! I have not had any more Syrian escapes in a few years, other than Galadriel gnawing through the side of a thick 20 gallon Sterilite bin! She is in a tank now. But earlier with other hamsters, it took a lot of time before I got used to most of their amazing escapes. Best to Chewie.

Glad that you were spared the anxiety of having a missing pet!
For me the voice is usually, "Did you unplug the iron?"
(Iron has auto shutoff, but still. . .)

Thanks all. Yesterday, lol, I kept telling Chewie he wasn't going to escape again. And I know the difference between my voice and God's voice telling me to do something. Mine isn't persistent and doesn't always get me to do something. I know I can say it here without getting bashed, but all of you will know when God is telling you something.
