You can give them as both, because they can only have small pieces..There is a lot of sugar in an orange and some rabbits just don't like the smell or taste of them. Bram doesn't like them, I've tried many times but he just eats around it and the next day there is only a piece of orange left

Why did you go and ask that? You know Paws wouldn't give any food to their animals if they thought it wasn't safe or hadn't done research first on it. *sigh* Thanks for reply LJ saying it was safe to have.

This is the second time in as many days you have falsely accused me of insulting Paws when I did nothing of the sort. It is really getting old. I simply asked for others' opinions, and cute stories such as LJ posted above. And I await Andrea's. By bringing this up I also informed people that oranges ARE an acceptable treat. *sighs x2*

The fact of the matter is that you want to know if it's safe or not to feed them that bugs me. If Andrea or LJ (etc) said it was bad, you'd say something about it and you know you would. That is what I don't like. I feel like Riley in "National Treasure 2" where he tells Ben, "If you had less information I'd believe you already." Same here, you tell me things that I may not think okay, but I believe you. Sometimes I feel I tell you something and you have to look for more information to see if I'm right. That is all I meant. Sorry for the rant LJ and others.

National Treasure 2. Not a bad movie, but not my favourite. Then again, I don't care for Nicholas Cage.
My best friend's bunnies will eat the rind, but not the rest of it. Then again, her bunnies hate carrots. Favourite food is noodles.

ooooook. Anyways, as already said Oranges are fine for bunnies in small amounts, as they do contain a lot of sugars. Bunnies can have both the peel and the inside, just remove any seeds. Vitamin C is good, and oranges are full of it Almost all my guys like them, though they do not get it often.

I suppose you need to remove it ASAP as I assume all that sugar sure attracts bugs outside in Summer as do all fruits.

Are the bugs more attracted to their poop if they've eaten fruit? Just a thought...

You want to always remove any uneaten fresh fruits/veggies, for if they spoil and the rabbit then eats it, this could cause the rabbit to become sick (GI Stasis).

See the thread in Members Only on the POW WOW. I learned that raptors, hawks and falcons, have no sense of smell! And that means people might make the mistake of feeding them old bad meat, which they could eat. In the wild they only eat freshly killed meat. I would not leave out old fruit more than several hours--flies and more flies!! Summer. Is Summer hot and humid in BC? Mosquitoes?

But vultures are raptors, and they have a good sense of smell!

The raptor handler referred only to her falcons and hawks. I should have specified that.

>>Is Summer hot and humid in BC? Mosquitoes? << Yeah, it can get hot (well, hot for here) and we do get crazy Mosquitoes mid summer. Andrea gets it hotter where she is, because I'm right on the coast so I get the breeze from the sea. (Hooray for living two blocks away from the Pacific Ocean)

We do take out the old food the next day and fill it with fresh food and fruits.
