Here she is. . . . I'm puzzled why 3/4 of my photos didn't turn out well, but at least I have these. Ta-da! Here I am. . . My cage: Aerial view of me in my playpen. Yes, my mommy's kitchen carpet is yellow and green (landlord's choice, not hers!) Another view: Look, I'm a GIRL! (you can also see my missing fur at bottom right) So what do the dwarf experts think? Could she stand to lose (more than) a few grams?

So lucky she is. So cute that last shot. The next to last shot looks odd somehow, like an eye is missing! Yes, she looks just a tad chubby, based on a visual look, for whatever that is worth.

We will both lose a few grams. I've been busy and distracted lately with no time for the gym.
I'm comparing Mallory to all the other dwarfs I have seen or had.

I'm comparing her to my memories of Benny, Theo, and Harriet and she does look a bit overweight. And yay pictures!! She looks soo cute; I love the first picture of her! Hi Mallory!!

Mallory says, "Hi Katie and Chewie! And Chewie, thanks for your welcome to the neighborhood! " (in an earlier thread) I realize that I probably could have gotten some nice pudgy shots of her if I'd given her a treat, but I didn't think to do that. If you look at the photo where she's running in her wheel and look straight down at the part of her below the yellow hub--she looks particularly pudgy to me there. . . So it seems that it's good that she's on Weight Watchers--and she's not complaining so far. In fact, she's csomeoneng down when I hold her, such that I can pet her. Last week she was like a wet bar of soap--slipping out of my hands constantly!

She is really cute! I love the final photo.
I am with you on the the photo quality comment. I have a supposedly good digital camera (one that takes beautiful pictures of hampstead heath) that when faced with the task of capturing a shot of one of my rodents decides to lower the picture quality and lighting by about ten times!
Also, I think she may be slightly overweight. But I have a winter white that was a lot chubbier than her and, with a restriction on treats, returned to a suitable weight within a very short space of time.

When I put my digi cam on macro I often get overexposures with the subject critter being "burned out" by the flash. Being too close can cause that.
Sometimes I change the background: a light gray background for a lighter colored animal can help; avoid a dark background for such a pet as the background can fool the camera's meter causing overexposure. Other times I just partially cover the flash with my finger! And occasionally I merely move back more.
Digi shots are free, so you can take them until you get them right, although you may go through a lot of batteries!
