I had my boyfriend scan this photo of Pinky. He was Chinese hamster #2, and he lived for four wonderful years. He was the most mellow of my Chinese. Being an old man, he developed a prostate problem, but I think he just died of old age. Rest in peace, sweet Pinky. In the photo he is eating the whole wheat pasta only--no sauce! And those are birthday cards in the background.

>> he developed a prostate problem << Got up a lot at night to pee, huh? Very cute photo. Glad the memories are warm. Thanks. I have that photo as my wallpaper on this new computer. No, actually he peed normally (vet said 4x a day, and she was right on). His penis hung out of the sheath, though, and he bothered it to the point of drawing blood. Pushing it back in was a chore--he hated it but never bit. A hormone shot cured it for about 4 months, but it was back when he died. Fuzz had the same problem (penis out) occasionally toward the end of his life, but it wasn't consistent and there was no blood. So ? Now I have a little girl, so there won't be THIS problem, at least.

I am having a similar problem (no, not me; one of the kittens): when I massage one of the kittens (now about 15 weeks old)--Darwin, the last caught--he clearly appears "stimulated". And a curious sight it is! BTW, I assume the vet told you this "out of the sheath" situation was a prostate problem and just not him being glad to see you. ;D I had to slip in a joke.

So many jokes; so little time. But this is a PG-13 board. What? No response from His Salaciousness?? Yes, you had to. And yes, he was evaluated by an exotics vet.
