Aw, they're cute and big for fawns. I would think they would lose their spots by then, right? Are they hand raised, ( ) the only reason I ask that is because they're taking food from your hand and you can get great shots of them up close. *Now I have that song in my head.*

>> *Now I have that song in my head.* << Yea, me too! One time my mother told me of a trip she took to California before I was born. In a National Perk (Yosemite, I think) she fed a deer some taffy. The deer chewed and chewed. Lovely fotos; lovely fawns. I forgot their eyes looked just that way. Interesting.

My Mom fed a fawn too, they were somewhere I forget exactly where she said. Haha- a taffy...that's my Mom's nickname. ;D
If that was me and the deer I would name them, I'm guessing you don't do that huh LJ?

That I recall. But she really fed her that. My mom and dad--with her older brother and his wife--drove before I was born to California. It was a mess. Dear old dad wanted to see trees and scenery and famous landmarks; the uncle and aunt wanted to go to night clubs, do the Cha-cha, and gamble in Vegas (which was just starting). They even missed going down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon by burro, something DOD always complained about; he also complained about the women "insisting on stopping and having coffee. . . and then an hour later stopping to empty it out!". LOL Needless to say, they did not return home together, the uncle and aunt and my parents.

No they're not hand raised, but they are is a parc. They learn -fawns- very early that people = food. So they'll come up to the fence when they see someone throwing things over the fence.
the fawn looks big by the way, I think it weighs about 7,5 kg at te moment, at birth they are about 4 kg and the oldest one is about 4,5/5 weeks old.
*edit: I always have the SOM-song in my head when I'm feeding the deers ;D

I hope the deer are safe since they see people equaling food. And I hope you don't mind me saying here LJ, but deer isn't plural. When there's a bunch of them, it's just deer.

well you know English isn't my first language, so I have a plausible excuse for my mistakes They are very safe, because after dark no one can enter the parc, and at daylight there are too many people in the parc to let someone harm them.

It is 'park', actually, but your English is better than many native English speakers in the U.S.
They are indeed in a park, so being accustomed to people there is no big deal.

No big deal? I hope this park LJ is talking about is a no-kill zone or they shouldn't just walk up to cars and get hit. Being used to people for a wild animal is not safe. That's my opinion anyway.

If they are in a park they cannot be wild. If they are taking food from people like that they cannot be wild. That is why I hope the deer at Paws really get scared of people somehow before being released into the actual wild.
BTW, if there are cars I assume there are strict speed limits, in a park.

it's a car-free area and there are a lot of small children feeding the birds and the deeR. And no, they are not wild. Al of them are born in captivety, and unless I'm wrong this group already existed for almost 1,5 centuries (no not the same animals but their ancestors) So they don't know how it's like to be 'free'. and no, you can't hunt there...Unless you're not afraid to kill a person, because you are going to hit one if you miss the animal
