Here is the link to this year's photo gallery: RIGHT HERE is the PHOTO GALLERYLINK HEREThat is the link to the story about the Cat Show 2008 in the Animal News forum. There is a link to the photos of last year's show in that thread. Click on the thumbnails for bigger images. Here are a few samples. Norwegian Forest Cat Occicat Sphinx In the photo gallery, the pink thing is a stroller for your kitty! Photo 4354 in the gallery are face paintings for types of cats. 4371 is a typically luxurious habitat for the cat in transport to the show. That is where a few would nap. One of the prettiest cats to me is the Egyptian Mau - here being judged. That is number 4494 in the gallery. Photo number 4479 shows a cat doing tricks, in this case tight rope walking high up! For more about cats and their breeds go to www.cfa.org.

As I mentioned, the cat in 4494 is an Egyptian Mau. And he was MEOWing the most while waiting to be judged. Well, the judge said he was an EM cat. Very pretty. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Mau>> Maus have been clocked running over 30 mph << >> Maus often possess very musical voices. They are known to chirp, chortle and emit other distinctly unusual vocalizations when stimulated.[4] Another behavior, quite common in happy Maus, has been described as "wiggle-tail." The cat, male or female, moves its back legs up and down, and appears to be marking territory, also known as spraying, but it is not actually releasing urine. Even veteran Mau owners are known to check after a joyous Mau does this little dance. << They seem charming! The Ocicat is the wildest looking of the bunch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocicat>> Ocicats are a very outgoing breed. They are often considered to have the spirit of a dog-in a cat's body. Most can easily be trained to fetch, walk on a leash and harness, come when called, speak, sit, lie down on command and a large array of other dog-related tricks. << All breeds have quite different personalities. The Norwegian Forest cat was right next to the Maine Coon. Both seemed about the same size - big.

I should have posted who won. . . cfa-iams-cat-championship.org/welcome.html>> Winners of 2008 Agility test. The time is the amount of time through the course of obstacles. 8 seconds is amazing! 1st: Nascat's Rev Up 'n Fire Thru, Maine Coon, owned by Donna Hinton. 8 seconds 2nd: Rosie, Japanese Bobtail, owned by Jill Archibald & Karen Bishop. 12 seconds 3rd: Caught Smokin, Egyptian Mau owned by Katheryn Dunham. 14.5 seconds << But they do not say who the actual winners are. . . Oh yea!! I forgot. I did know. A Russian Blue named Runner won. Now I remember. HERE IS THE STORY>> There's a new aristo-cat in town: Runner, a regal Russian blue. The 18-month-old North Carolina cat's purr-fect looks and poise won him the Best of the Best award at the CFA-Iams Championship at Madison Square Garden Sunday. Runner - whose full name is Platina Luna Blade Runner - beat out 40 other cats and kittens that had been picked as best of their breeds from among 250 competing felines. << There is a photo gallery on that link above which I highly recommend you see! Here is one photo from it: There is also a video on this site: www.chiff.com/pets/cat-show.htm
