The pronounciation on Wiki is different from "show low". Or maybe I heard wrong. What is your pronounciation?

For the Xolo dog, no idea. I say it as: zo-low, but yours is probably better if you heard it somewhere. This week is the Cretan Hound. Enjoy: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cretan_HoundAnd this is my first time in hearing about him too! It was exciting to hear a new breed.

Wiki does not like it too much! Why not write improvements!?

This week is my parent's favorite breed the Drentse Patrijshond. It is from the Netherlands and he's intelligent, gentle, and curious. To see more about this sporting breed go here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drentse_Patrijshond

I saw a very odd likely mix breed dog yesterday: very long lean legs; black and white - greyhound and something? But it was not a greyhound.

You're going to have to describe it a bit better, but if it looked like a Greyhound, then it was probably some sort of sight hound.

Yea, hound indeed.
Looked like a bigger sturdier greyhound with really long legs and a pointy nose and he/she was mostly white and black. Nice looking critter.

Long or short hair? I'm thinking Lurcher, but am not sure if they come in black/white. Here's wiki on a list of sight hounds: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SighthoundSorry about not guessing enough, I have Chewie with me. He says to say, "Hi!"

Hi back to Chewie! Tell him Celeborn got loose again. He is back home now. I need a new name for the new hamster (and mouse) - see Rescues forum. The dog had short hair. If not for that very narrow waist that would be an extremely close match in the photo above. Maybe a Whippet/Greyhound mix? If so, would the dog retain those colors?

Greyhounds/Whippets can come in grey/white. So any color is possible with whatever the dog mated with.

I thought that too. Send her a PM and ask her; she might miss this post and thread.

Thnx DF...
And yes, I know that breed. In fact: My best friend has a one, His name is Arco. Those dogs are a bit like a cocker spaniel in character, Very happy, playfull dogs. They are bigger then a English cocker spaniel(my breed)
You don't see them allot, not as much as the Wetterhoun/Friese Stabij, but they aren't really rare over here.
I love them, Arco is the first one I saw daily and I think there's no better dog that could introduce me to this breed, because he's one of the sweetest dogs i've met.
This breed loves to swim, play and do things with there owner. And normally they are very social towards other dogs/breeds and other people. I know Arco is, he is totally crazy about Queeny(my dog) and the Rodesian Ridgeback of there neighbors, and we used Arco for a lesson on school.
Before Arco my best friend had another one, Pascha, he died at the age of 8 yrs.
