Same here for some states. If one has a PB, they must get rid (ex: put in shelter, re home, etc) of them as the law says no one can have them. I forget which state it is.
Today in Westminster they showed the Vastgotaspets, very pretty. That's neat that your teacher has two of them!

Yeah, before The Vastgotaspets he had dogo Argentino's, but he's getting older and he wanted dogs that have a big dog's personallity in a little body and he didn't like the Jack Russell A few of my teachers have very nice breeds, One has 4 dogs: A Xcollie,A Saluki(who's doing shows), A Cao de Agua portugues, A whippet. Others have Beaucerons, Old german Shepherd(that's different from the 'normal' german shepherd), Labrador Retriever, Curly Coated Retrievers. But I like the Saluki,Whippet, Vastgotaspets& Cao de Agua the most

Wow an Argentino Dogo, my orthodontist's nurse was thinking about getting one, but she declined thinking that since she wanted children. They really look like strong dogs! For some strange reason, in the dog show, they changed the Jack Russell's name to Parson Russell, do you know why they changed it back? I have no idea. Salukis are beautiful dogs, for the first time I saw a Beauceron on tv and they're neat looking dogs, very strong. I can see that kind of dog doing police work. Curly-coats are cool, do they feel soft? They look it. I pretended a family I wrote about had one named Abby. Oh I see that's another name for the Portuguese Water Dog, cool, thanks for that bit of info. Porties can be cute when not looking like a show dog; Whippets are okay, fast little guys they are. What's the difference between an old and normal German Shepherd? For us over here, it's just the German Shepherd.

Parson Russell are the original 'Jack Russell's' Parsons are actually the high legged Jack's, And they where the first ones.
They also call them John Russell because that's the real name of the first Parson breeder. He actually was looking for a good working dog, because he was going to use them for different things, and other breeds just could do one of the thing he needed the dog for, so he kept on crossbreeding with other breeds until he found his perfect dog.
the Parson Russell needed to walk next to a horse, in big groups, While the short-legged Jack Russell could be carried in a Saddlebag or in front of his owner in the saddle.
About the dogo argentino: They look strong, and they are, but they are very loyal to the family and very protective. They are good with children, but as all dogs: It's an animal, you can never be to sure of it. I don't like leaving a small child alone with a dog, what size dog it is doesn't matter.
About german Shepherds:
The old german shepherds are a bit more laid back, They have longer hair and they have a Straight back while the 'Normal' german shepherd has a 'Hyena-back'.

You two are going to LOVE my Dog Show photos!
One dog everyone loved was the Briard.
The longest Best of Breed competition was the Afghan Hounds - about 20 were in the ring, and it went on for over half an hour. See my thread on the Dog Show in Members Only.

I can understand why they all loved the briard, I love them too They are just the type of dogs I like: allot of hair, great personality,Very loyal and they are big. I love dogs with hair, and allot of it too ;D One of my teachers in kindergarten had 1, a female called Mira. That dog was allot of fun, I remember days we didn't do anything but play with the dog That teacher was a bit of a witch, very mean, but her dog was so sweet! Afghans are cool too, but I don't like the personality on those dogs, I need a dog who listens and afghan hounds are a spoiled breed. They have allot of trouble eating, and they are not very loyal. Afghans are doing great on almost every dogshow, always allot of them there. I would like to see the Clumber spaniel making it's come back in shows.

I love Clumber Spaniels for some reason, and thanks for the info, this I will remember! When I used to work at a kennel there was this long-haired GSD, which I thought was weird, so now I know that he was a GSD, but the older type. Beagle won for the WDS!!! Uno is his name.

For some reason, I can't tell you why, I don't like Beagles. I used to love them, but now I just don't like them anymore... I would like to have a Clumber spaniel when Queeny is gone, I love the breed. They look nice, are not as hyperactive as a Cocker spaniel(Wich would be nice for a change) and they are very sweet. But I also want a Poodle since I've worked with them I'm totally poodle-crazy

>> I love dogs with hair, and allot of it too << I watched the very long Afghan Best of Breed competition, and the Old English Sheepdog competition too. And now for a "Shaggy Dog" story! How do they see?! Yes, there were many Afghans in the competition - in part why it lasted so long. The judge wanted second and third looks even after dividing them into smaller groups and eliminating most. Beagles. We love Snoopy, but a next door neighbor when I was a kid had a beagle named Peppy. He never seemed very smart or very happy, nor much fun, and he yeowled and whined so much. Maybe it was the owner's fault. I never heard of them abusing him but I think he needed training, and more affection perhaps? So that soured me on beagles. Keep an eye peeled for my photo gallery. The 2007 Dog Show threads and photos are up (just look for the threads from February of 2007!).

Beagles are known for making noise, they keep barking and howling when there's no need for doing that.. Those old English sheepdogs are great to see, fun to play with, and heaven to work with They don't need to see, almost every OES is a good listener they just follow the voice of it's owner

I think Beagles are cute to a point, but when they start that howling and there's more than ten in a kennel, I just want to scream!!!!!!
For the Old English Sheepdog, I like how their nickname is the Bobtail. Don't know why I think it's funny, it just is.

Makes no sense.
>> Those old English sheepdogs are great to see <<
All I saw was a huge mass of fur!
There was Disney movie long about such a "shaggy dog". There are also "shaggy dog stories"* and why they got that name I have no idea.
* - A long meandering story that goes nowhere but that the teller thinks is finny and clever, but isn't.

The last thing you said directly above: >> For the Old English Sheepdog, I like how their nickname is the Bobtail. Don't know why I think it's funny, it just is << "Bobtail"?? Do they have tails? Were they bobbed?

In the old england you only had to pay taxes for dog with a tail, so when you had an OES you didn't have to pay taxes That's why they got Bobtail as a nickname.
