I have no idea. Something that was used on an animal for good or bad. *shrugs*

It is not an animal torture device, nor anything for animals. ;D
Relate it to my activities last night, as referenced on RR in Members Only.
Ideally, the right side is held straight up and the other parts hang down. And then someone does something, or tries to. . . This was available in the tavern. . .

When I first looked at it I thought of one of those games where you try to extricate the linked pieces from each other. Then I saw your hint, DF, and now I think I might be right. Definitely the kind of thing that could amuse a drunk for a while. . . ;D
Am I right?

But it was not easy, drunk or sober, particularly in dim candlelight. What you see comes from my flash. The round circular thing can be removed, but only with some tricky maneuvers. What do they call these things?? Some magicians' "magic rings" tricks work similarly. Presto chango! ;D

I used the word "game," but it's really a puzzle.
We had something similar as a toy growing up.
I wasn't referring to YOU as drunk--just referring to the fact that the puzzle was found in a tavern, where the patrons presumably may be in that condition. . .

If you knew what it was, why did you act as if you didn't? I'm guessing to fool us?
