Born in November 2006. These are the four guys who are left after 26 months. Their baby photos are still in the Rat forum from that month. How time flies by. At least I gave them all a good life. Their sister, Margie, is the only female left alive. Their were two litters by their late moms, Moet and Chandon, so I can't be certain if they are cousins, technically. But they have been together from birth and may as well be brothers even if not biologically. I wanted to get photos taken while I still can. Tux has always been my favorite. Tux Oculus. He has always had that thing around his eye; never bothered him. Aurelius. Marcus. if anyone understands the historical connection of the last two names, good for you! I will try to post a Margie photo later. Thanks to all of them. When the time comes they will be buried next to their siblings and moms in the cemetery - see Memorial forum thread photos.

They're nice looking; I'd get that eye checked out though. I think it was either Sophie or Chewie who had something like that and the vet gave me medication to give to them.

Marcus and Aurelius--ratty emperors! I can see why you like Tux.

Marcus Aurelius...the last of the "Five Good Emperors" Oculus looks rather old, Tux looks the best for his age

>> Marcus Aurelius...the last of the "Five Good Emperors" << Yep. And the great philosopher: see "the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius". But he should have had his lunatic son, Commodus, killed before he MA died. MA also spent much of his tenure on the German frontier fighting barbarians. I will say it again. Oculus's eye - the area around it - has looked like that for almost his whole life. And I think that is a clever name! I checked the old guys today and their pants were up against their chests and they were chatting about their physical complaints. I gave them soft food including yogurt and evaporated milk. Kidney mush is next. They are slowing down even in running to the cage bars and climbing up when I call them for their snacks. Aurelius is chunkier than Marcus and has more coloring on his back, so I can tell them apart. The Winter weather is a problem. Impossible to have mass burials. It is getting crowded in the freezer.

Here is the photo of their last remaining sister, Margie. She now has a friend, in her final days. See separate thread soon. I will put it up asap.

I will say it again. Oculus's eye - the area around it - has looked like that for almost his whole life. ^Even still, just in case you may want to bring him in. It may not be bothering him, but like I said my guys got meds when I brought them in and it was either Sophie or Chewie who had something like that. Or you could look it up to see what it could be. Margie is a big rat! But nice looking.

Since you seem to be knowledgeable why not you look it up since I do not know what it is nor do I think it is anything? You really want me to bring in a 26 month old rat who has had that his entire life, can see fine, and has never been bothered by it?
