They called the dog Belle, after Belmont Racetrack where she hung out after getting lost. They left out food and water. The story was shown on the local news. . . and the real owner saw it! He made some calls after the dog was finally caught and put up for adoption. The rest is on the video, along with the dog's actual name. . . abclocal.go.com/wabc/video?id=6621765

Nice story. The dog looked so very happy!
**I edited the thread title--reunion after 2 months, not 2 years.

Wow that's great that the dog and owner were reunited! I saw on Animal Planet that this one dog was gone for seven or so years before finally the family got a call and got their Beagle back.

I have heard of a number of cases with dogs and cats being gone years and finding their way back or being reunited. Bonds can be strong. I know. I remember a story of a man going back to a flooded New Orleans looking for his cat, "Concat", along with a camera crew from somewhere (I forget whom). He went back three times searching houses. Finally, he found him. Hugs, and into the carrier!
