Someone just gave me a copy of this book, which became a movie.
Anyone read it? Thoughts?
I suppose I should next read "Rescuing Sprite", another best seller about a dog.

My friend always wanted to read it and my brother's girlfriend did and she said it was very good. They also saw the movie and said it was good, some things changed--but big surprise there. Movies always change things from the book that they may not be able to put in the big screen.

I have yet to read the book, however I saw an episode of the "Dog Whisperer" on TV. (Hate that show, but w/e) Anyways, they got a second dog, which, like Marley, was a hellion and destroying their yard. With the help of this trainer guy they got it under control. I will probably read the book and see the movie, however I don't agree with the glorification of improper ownership. They needed to step up and take responsibility for the fact that they were not in control of their dog and do something about it, instead of blaming the dog for being the problem.

My opinions of Cesar Millan are in the "Myth of Alpha Training" thread, as are citations of many veteran accomplished trainers who condemn him.

Yeah, I read that. I plan on reading the book... I think I'll probably just download the movie. Not going to pay $6.00 for that!
