Well I had done my routine check of the hamsters before I went to bed the other night. They all had food, water, and seemed to be in good health. I went to clean their cages the next morning and it looked like my still nameless Chinese baby was missing. Instantly worried, (and having no idea how she could have escaped her cage) I took everything out of it and started the search. I found her buried under her bedding, on her side in the middle of her cage. So RIP my sweet nameless one. I have no idea how or why you died, but you did. Your life was short, but I hope it was good. Your journey in this life has ended, but your journey in the land over the Rainbow Bridge has only just begun.

Aw, Dez, I'm so sorry. May your hamster rest in peace. And I hope you're holding up well. *hugs*

So sorry. On the occasions that happened to me, I always buried them with a name. First opportunity, weather and time, I have a mass burial to do. At least Poppy survived the operation yesterday and is doing reasonably well.

I do plan on getting another one, however it probably won't be right away. I'm doing okay, it was just really weird. I felt super bad when I found her, trying to figure out what I'd done or how I could make it better.

All too often there are no answers and no apparent reason. To this day I wonder about some things I did or did not do that might not have been good, but there are no answers.
