I was being facetious. I know you don't live there. >> She didn't scare him away! << I might have. It is still easier than having affectionate cats swarming about your feet as you walk doing housework.

I still have to get those pictures to you, Robin, I will!! I also made a video of Luke that whenever I can I'll try to put it up here, it isn't very long. He was sort of going to the music in the background as we had The Great Escape on. A wonderful movie. No offense to cats or cat lovers, but I LOVE dogs so much better. And this isn't just because I'm deathly allergic to them. Most come on their own time where as dogs come to you ALL the time. The only cat I liked was Pickles, a neighbor's cat. Now she is one kewl cat ( ).

You never saw my cats. I open the bedroom door and several of them charge towards me wanting to be rubbed and petted, purring like crazy. Others are parked outside my door so they do not need to even move. I pick them up and give them belly rubs, even Audrey now. Darwin gets actual full hugs, and he hugs me. When I am working somewhere they sit around to be near me, or flop on the floor rolling on their backs wanting more belly rubs, even Mistie. Sometimes to get work done I have to lock them in the bathroom.
When I sit down outside the bedroom, where they do not go, I am promptly covered in cats!
>> Most come on their own time where as dogs come to you ALL the time. <<
I don't need my cats to come to me ALL the time. They can come when they want - which is most of the time. They play and "mouth" my hands and arms. Even Audrey. If they were any more affectionate they'd be classified as psychotic!
Of note is that I have heard cats do this only for their caregiver; they will never do it for a stranger.

So far so good. He's eating, going to the bathroom, and is growing. He loves to be out more and everyone that meets him, loves him!! I'm starting a journal about him; not much just what he's done through the day.
Luke says to say to all of you, "Ruff, ruff" or in human language, "Hello friends!" ;D

>> and is growing <<
When I first read that I thought it said "growling"! ;D
I should hope he is growing - he is a young puppy. What is on the menu?
Watch out what other dogs he meets outside - beware the aggressive ones.

Right now he has Iams dry food with Blue Buffalo (or is it the other way around? Hm.) wet food. He's really not eating that much, so we'll ask the vet about that.
We're careful on who he meets and how he meets them. There are children near us and we tell them nicely how to approach and pet him. He should be attending obedience school soon.

Children, ugh. Blue Buffalo. Reminds me of Linda Ronstadt - "Blue Bayoo". Another of my convoluted esoteric free associations! www.bluebuff.com/>> “To us, our dogs and cats are family members, so only the very best food is good enough for them.” With this being the core idea of the Blue Buffalo Company, we set out to create a healthy dog food and cat food that would allow us to feed our furry friends with the same concern for nutrition and quality that we have for all of our family members. When we looked closely at the well-known pet food brands, we were surprised to learn that most contained ingredients like animal by-products†, cheap fillers, artificial preservatives, flavors and colors. We also learned that even the highest-priced pet foods cook their added vitamins and minerals right along with the rest of their ingredients which can degrade the potency of important antioxidants like Vitamin C up to 75%. This learning inspired us to design BLUE as a two-part product, one which combined a tasty nutrition kibble with our exclusive LifeSource® Bits—active nutrients and antioxidants that are "cold-formed" to preserve their potency. It's this unique combination that provides the kind of wholesome nutrition your pet family member deserves. If you are not sure what the ingredients are in your pet’s food, take the True BLUE Test and compare your dog food or compare your cat food now. Our nutrition philosophy starts with selecting the finest natural ingredients. All of our great-tasting, natural and holistic BLUETM Life Protection Formula dog food and BLUETM Spa SelectTM cat food recipes feature deboned chicken, lamb or fish as the first ingredient, which means there is more real meat than any other ingredient. Plus, each recipe includes wholesome whole grains, garden vegetables and antioxidant-rich fruit—ingredients chosen for the numerous nutritional benefits they provide. We never use animal by-products†. And because the health of our dogs and cats is so important to us, our healthy recipes do not contain any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. What's more, we never include corn, wheat or soy, as they have been linked to allergic reactions in some dogs. . . << So I assume there are no snouts and rectums in there.

>>Blue Bayoo<< Sorry--that made me laugh!! Bayou! Sounds like Luke is doing fine except for a slightly weak appetite. Maybe he's like a typical kid--doesn't want what's good for him (Iams and Blue Buffalo) but would wolf down what's bad for him!

Bayoo is how you spell it in Cajun country, with an extra "oooo" sound.
So what WOULD he want?

Yeah Robin that's what we were thinking, we may switch him totally to Blue Buffalo because I hear (from two co-workers) that it's really a good brand.
He's doing well with commands so far, he's being fed chicken as a reward. He loves that! Lol & yum yum. Right now I'm trying to teach him the "leave it" command.

Balance chicken on his nose until you tell him to take it!
