So, yesterday the pet store told me about them, and today I picked them up. Three ten gallon gerbil tanks, requiring three separate trips; six gerbils; waterbottles, wheels, toys, food bowls, etc. All were left at the pet store by someone whose kid was "allergic". Not that anyone should ever think of gerbils as just for kids! So, $100 worth of stuff, and the gerbils. And a less room around here! But more rescued. They are creams and nutmegs, some completing their molt. Photos some other time; I am too tired. One is a female with a male likely pregnant - this weill be my first gerbil litter; another tank is to females; and another tank a mom and pup.

Nice work! 3 separate trips?! You are so dedicated. Can't wait to see pictures and hear what you're going to name everyone When you have time of course.

Well, two trips. One I was there anyway.
I wanted to wait three or four days but he was going to sell them off if anyone wanted them, so I had no choice. it wasn't that bad. There was a drizzle and they were covered by a garbage bag.
There may be a litter. . . yikes. My first gerbil litter.

Wow, lucky you getting all that stuff for free... Maybe I should call my petstore and ask them to call me when they need some rescuers.
Its sounding like a good idea...

It is an excellent idea. There are so many animals out there that need good homes!

Well, they know me for a long time. And they know I am very knowledgeable about small critters. But you can always tell pet store people who know and trust you that if they have any injured or abandoned animals you could be considered for a rescue and adoption. I also rescued a badly biten hamster once before the store (after my complaints) stopped over crowding and separated the pets by gender.
