Yeah, Upjohn goes out of town a lot, but as you said there are other vets there who can help as well! There is a vet in Maple Ridge (I think it's Walton but I can't remember) who was under Upjohn but opened up his own practice. SARS does deal with ERAH, but I believe some members go to the guy in Maple Ridge as well. LMR (I'm guessing you mean Little Mischief Rescue?) was started by a former SARS member and some of the other rat/ferret people that were involved... I'm not exactly sure what happened, but as long as the animals are being helped, I honestly don't care. I'm not sure which vet LMR deals with. Petratscanada.com has a list of rat vets on there, I prefer Upjohn because he is also awesome with the hamsters.

As I posted elsewhere on RR, I was at a huge dog/cat show today. One of the terrier dog breeds in his elaborate display area had a sign: "I work for rats". I chided the owner, and interestingly, she loves rats and has some as pets! But she keeps them separate from her dog. Glad you have good vets.
