I currently have 4 - Nicolini, Tehuti, Aengus and Blake, the newest who arrived in April after losing Apollo to a stroke (he was 2 years, 9 months). Here's a photo of Blake, who is heavily mottled.

Blake is very pretty! And that "gerbil" on the flag doesn't look like a gerbil at all! You wear Eli with pride!

Blake is very mottled. I never had one like that. My oddest color was Edan, a DEH with a lightening gene (photos have been up). Poor guy was killed by tankmate Sapphire when I had moved them to another tank as theirs had mites. The new smells must have freaked Sapphire out: Edan was old at that time and not well, but still Sapphire is fine with Smokey now. (I've posted on this before). What is really interesting is that you look like Jodie Foster in that photo! You really do, and I never saw that resemblance before. Am I right? Anyone? (Did I ever mention her before? Can't recall). Or was that you in "Flightplan"? Jodie(Well, I took my ginkgo biloba and gave the neurons a kick, and, yes, I do now recall a JF reference oh so long ago. At least I'm consistent.) I sort of expected a gerbil t-shirt for a gerbil meeting. Maybe I should get one made of Leslie and Sam the GPs. The only animal photo I carry with me is them with Poppy the bunny. Odd? Not to me. I assume you carry a few. So, rodent people are afraid of being laughed at? That is why they stay in the shadows? Sorry if I forgot, but what happened to Pyke? Nicolini. I am still awaiting a 'Moreschi'. >> It was really interesting to finally meet all these people I had been in communication with for 4 years << Ha! I think I said that myself, once. Yep. Ah, memories.

Thanks, Pinky.
DF, I have heard that throughout my life, even during the days of "Freaky Friday", although I don't see much of a resemblance.
Pyke passed away about 2 years ago from cancer - he was also very mottled.
Blake is from a breeder - he is a relative of Awesome, who won Best in Show a few years ago. Blake would likely do well in shows, but showing animals is not my thing. I took the bus out there and rented a car in Boston, and toting gerbils along would have been tricky.

Sorry. I saw no JF resemblance in the photos with the live Eli. None. But something about the above photo (different makeup, or lighting?) reminded me of her. Well, maybe someday I will see JF in the subway wearing a chihuaha t-shrt and I will think, "gee, she sure looks like Karen!". (JF is actually starting to look unusually thin lately, for some reason). I know you have also been compared to Susan on "Seinfeld". Just don't lick any toxic envelopes - or become a lesbian if you break up with Costanza! (or was she?!). I was wondering how you got up there. Hope the driving skills don't get rusty from lack of use. Maybe "best in show" awards are for professional breeders. I'd hate to sort of compete with my critters, and I'd never even go unless I thought one was gorgeous. . . and then I'd be morose if he/she lost.
