Hi all,
I hope this thread goes here. But moving on, our neighbors are moving and sadly they can't take their dogs with them. So they're going to give them to good homes in the NJ, PA, DE, Maryland area.
So they were wondering if any of you, or if you knew anyone who would like a purebred German Shepherd (tan and black) called Rain and a Pit Bull (looks mixed to me of a Dogo Argentino) that's white called Brooklyn.
They're both being trained at the moment and are doing fine as far as I can tell and both are very very friendly. Our neighbor said the GSD is going for $100. and the PB is going for $75. They said to please contact them at this number: 1-732-259-0518 and the owners names are Herby and Joy.
They have to give them away before the first of December, so if you know anyone who would love to have a GSD and white PB (or PB mix I think she is), please contact them.
Thank you.

Your subject lines often are cryptic as to what the thread is about. I changed this one. I suppose this is the proper forum. You can also paste the same thing in Animal Rescues. I hope you told them of the many Dog sites that can help them including the pure breed rescue groups; every breed has one, as you know. >> They have to give them away before the first of December << Well, they are not giving them away, nor should they. And the first of December is in less than a week!! I hope they have not just started looking for help. I would have hoped the dogs would have been adopted out a month before they left or earlier.

They can't put up this info on the internet because they took it off while they were moving. So that's why I proposed I would put it up for them. If I run into them again I will tell them about the rescues, as I forgot about them myself.
Don't judge anyone. They love their dogs very much and I'm sure would keep them if they could. I can understand why a bit as the one owner has a very bad back and can't work right now and has two strong dogs, while his wife is the only one working. You can tell they love them, but where they are moving has restrictions on dogs.
At least the two of them want to find good homes for them.

My only point was that if they waited, supposedly, this late, it is not responsible. And what happens to the dogs in the next several days if they do not find anyone??
They should also, at this point be proactive and be making phone calls to dog groups and good shelters, not hoping someone on the Internet replies. See, for example, in the Animal Rescue forum that NJ group, Homeless Tails, that often appears on channel 50 out of NJ.
>> If I run into them again I will tell them about the rescues <<
"If"? Perhaps you should make a point to contact them as time is short.

But remember also, Robin, all pure bred dogs have their own rescue organizations, no matter how rare the breed. Networking with them, calling them, is very important.
Just search for "x rescue", 'x' being the name of the breed. I even found Neapolitan Mastiff Rescue.
I am pasting those shelters Robin mentioned into the Animal Rescues forum.

They probably thought they could take their dogs with them, then found out at the last minute they couldn't and had to find someone willing to take them in.
Yeah "if". I don't know where they live. They live in our complex, but I'm not sure where exactly. I only bump into them once in awhile when walking Luke.
I think they probably will have to resort to taking them to the AWA or some other no-kill shelter or a rescue organization.
