So Luke loves the snow, nothing is wrong with that, but when he comes back home we have to take out a hair dyer and dry his fur with that as snow balls are all over his stomach and legs. Now I know that's going to happen, even to big dogs. But I was wondering, if anyone here got their small dog (or even large breed dog) some winter coat and booties? Or do you just take out a hair dyer to? I'm really not a fan of dressing my dog up, but if it helps my little dude, then so be it. Also are there any other tips for when it snows? Thanks guys! Luke is loving his first snow storm!

You want clothes for your dog! ^Haha, not really. I hate it when people dress up their dog unless the dog really needs it and Luke needs it. So....
Last night I got stuck in a blizzard ^That stinks. I hope you had somewhere to go so you wouldn't get cold.
I assume behavior is similar? ^Yes some of the behavior is similar. After all, I read in some Coton book that Bichons come from the Cotons mating with others.
Why not call your breeder?? ^For that? No way, we'll figure something out. And thanks for the websites, I'm going to check them out now. Checked out the websites, they're mainly about care of a Coton and I read up about that before getting Luke. It is cute that the one Coton is named Luc, but spelled differently from ours.
I found booties for him at PetsMart, but they cost so much and we don't think he'll keep them on, so I didn't buy them. I got his Christmas gifts, however.

I know Cotons are like a branch of Bichons. if no booties, always rinse off the salt before you go inside! Hope their paws don't freeze. Just get something to wrap or tie around him. And maybe a cute sailor's hat! ;D I'd call the breeder! Or e-mail them. Winter care seems IMPORTANT to know, and this is your first. I would think they'd want to help. The blizzard I was in is described in Members Only; read it if you wish.

Sometimes we wipe him off first and then dry him off. I'd call the breeder! ^Nah, we're fine really. We just wanted to know whether anyone else put coats on their dogs or not.

Most people seem to put coats on their dogs in this weather, from what I see.
Post some snow photos!

I have been taking pictures on both my cell phone and the camera, but I have to now put them on the computer.
