Any tips for taking focused, non-overexposed photos of moving hamsters? I had to take quite a few just to get these two! Wish the background was better--she's on my feet and those are old socks! A photo that shows that although she is well-silvered on top her rear is still dove-colored. A photo showing how her belly fur is thinning. And just for fun, a few other photos. Ornaments: Birthday gifts: And a birthday card--what would YOU say it is??

Yea, use flash or give them something to keep them busy, such as food, to slow them down. I like the photo of you scruffing her. Looks like she is laughing, although I guess she is not! Obviously, the thinning fur bears zero resemblance to CD. Looks like a duck, the last one. A birthday gift. . . of a beaker! The ornaments are pretty. The angry bird is what kind of bird, and what is that ? A vase? I assume the other bird is a woodpecker. Glad you have a digi cam!

She was ready to chew my hand off after multiple scruffings. . . . she is not chubby, so when I scruff I am hanging onto mostly skin, not fat, and she can easily flail. Well, you're expected to say it's a duck, but really it's a rabbit doing situps. . . The handpainted ornament shows a flicker, which is a type of woodpecker; I also have a loon one and a kestrel one (kestrel = small falcon). It is a vase; the photo is entitled "The Mad Bluebird" and is pretty well known.

A few years ago at the local American Indian Pow-Wow they had some fellow with his birds of prey doing demonstrations. I posted on this, with photos. I suppose it can be found. One was a kestrel which I saw very closeup.
Flicker. Never heard of it. Flixster I think is a web site!
Ohhhh. The rabbit or duck. One of those illusions deals! Like the vase or profiles. See what you mean, though! I will have one up for you in several minutes. I told you about this one and I just found it. I will send a PM as a reminder. Actually, I see a rabbit doing pull ups - note the bar.
Always scruff a dwarf dead center or they can get you!!
So you got a beaker. No bunsen burner??

Teehee, when I saw the card I was like "bunny sideways"... it took me a bit to see the duck.
I still have not managed to scruff my robos. *glares at them* Too squirmy.

I haven't successfully scruffed my dwarf either. The vet's assistant did though, while she poked down her very full cheek pouches, and her eyes got so big I thought they'd pop out! They knew what they were doing, though.

Oh, yes, tonyshuman, the eyes! Jayde's will bug out if I hold the scruff too long, and then I HAVE to put her down because I can't bear to look!
If I want a Bunsen burner I just have to go to work. ;D
Not sure if this mug is really Pyrex laboratory glass, though, or just regular glass molded and marked to look like the bottom of an Erlenmeyer flask. I suspect the latter. I need to look the item up on the website and see its description. Regardless, I won't be using a burner on it!

Aw, Jayde is so cute! I like how she's different colors. The third photo of her looks like she's about to get you any time now.... And I thought too, that the card was a duck. I'm still trying to see it as a rabbit. The ordiments (sp) are nice, I like your second one better.

I was not clear above before. I meant it looks like the rabbit is doing pull ups on a bar, not sit ups.
