Frozen or cold blueberries are much appreciated by my gerbs, and hamsters. They are very healthy too. This time of year they are also rather inexpensive.
Anyone have gerbs who won't eat them?

I have heard that gerbils like fresh fruit like strawberries or carrots, I offered them to mine and they don't want nothing to do with them, but offer sunflower seeds or crackers they are there in a heartbeat, some will eat the mill worms and some of them don't it is strange how there likes and dislikes are different.

I will go get some blueberries for myself and give some as a treat to my Syrians. Do others think they're not a good idea for Dwarfs?

I am not sure if dwarfs eat them. Blueberries are among the healthiest things you can eat, and cooling on a hot day if frozen. I see no problem with a few small ones. they need some fruit and blueberries are the best, and least likely to quickly spoil like strawberries.

mine will eat dried fruit but they don't seem to like the fresh I may try it again and see what they do.

Pinky ate blueberries. Fuzz wasn't around for last year's crop, so I'll have to see what he thinks. He isn't too much into strawberries--that I know. But they all devour(ed) melon.
