Him and his brother have declanned for sure this time I posted a couple of weeks I about him before, I think. Buut anyway he was fighting his brother and this time drew blood he is out of there permantly now. I don't know why my gerbils are doing this it must be a full moon out tonight because even Uno is trying to be aggressive towards Braveheart, they were the split caged ones. and Peanut is being the same way with Scrappy but she is on watch too. They are in tanks two in each so there is plenty of room for them, I took the wheel back out of Uno's tank once again. Now Giacomo is back in a wire cage and his nose will get sore again!!! My gerbils are frustrating me at the moment, Giacomo anyway and uno, I don't know what thier problem is. I will try split caging again when the babies are old enough to leave Nemo, and if they are boys. Have to buy more tanks now I only needed 4 more and now this. I am so glad I was out in the living room because Jack would have been hurt worse than he was, he has a nick or a bite I should say the skin is broken and it is near the rump. Has anyone else have multiple declannings? and males? I thought females did this more not males.

As I posted here, I once had a gerb attack a tankmate when I moved them temporarily into a new bin as theirs had mites. I also related a declanning RIGHT HERELuckily that is all I ever had. Best to yours.

I read your post that was so sad to read and look at. I don't know what the deal is here with mine, Giacomo feels alone and sad, and Jack the one he bit is all happy, probably glad he doesn't have to deal with Giacomo anymore. He stayed with the tank too. they were actually going into a ball not tight because I saw it and grabbed up the little meanie before he could hurt the other one. When the babies grow up some more in about 4 weeks I guess I will try the split cage again with both of them and hopefully Giacomo will behave, if he doesn't he will be a loner I will not try with him again. I hope he doesn't chew the wires again and get another sore nose.

That was some fight Dill and Phil had. You saw the photos; I was surprised Dill survived, but I supposed as bad as he looked they were superficial, but still he got antibiotic ointment on the wounds.
I guess some need to live alone, but aggressive ones actually easily got along with a new gerb, after rejecting others. Depends on the gerbil chemistry I suppose.
Good luck.

Giacomo and his brother are inbred gerbils I wonder if this aggression is due to it? I have new ones to that are double inbred Braveheart is the father. And they are the ones I am waiting on to get older to try and introduce to the ones that just declanned. I hope it goes quicker I have read that males takes to pups so I hope it works for me. This is the first time I have felt frustrated with my babies. They are acting like my kids fighting lol and Giacomo is the one in the wrong here. Not really he is an animal but he is being very mean since the incident he has become a biter. He bit me when I took him out last night and bit my son when he picked him up last night because he felt sorry for him lol oh I still love him of course but he has really surprised me in his temperment now, didn't seem he was going to be aggressive and I never would believe Skittles either if I hadn't seen it myself when they booted out Uno. He is the most gentle gerbil there is. He looks so proud sitting there on my shoulder that is skittles in the pic. Does he look like he could be mean? well he was:) He and his other son is doing very well. I don't think Giacomo wants to be alone he is miserable right now, but it is his own fault that he is. Jack is happy
