Now with DSL, I can watch videos with no hassles! >> ''That's why we always recommend keeping dogs on a lead on the cliffs << Like, DUH. A fast running dog might not see the cliff edge until too late. Glad there were no serious injuries. Once when I was 15 my parents and I were driving through Canada and we made a stop at Bonaventure Island off the Gaspe peninsula in Quebec. It is a total sanctuary for puffins (who had already left) and vast numbers of gannets. I leaned over many times getting photos, and it was 300 feet down! Note: I posted in the Cats forum of how some can survive long falls as their maximum (terminal) velocity will be 60 mph. Humans would be 120! I assume dogs are much closer to cats. A human hitting the water at 120 may not be getting up, although they would not reach that velocity ( I do not think) over 300 feet. Depends on how you hit the water, also, and how relaxed you are hitting it. Maybe Robin can add more.
