Last night I picked up my new Hamster, that i knew nothing about. I read it was a "Male teddy Bear hamster Cross" online, even though the picture looked like a Gerbil. And the lady who picked the hamster up from the SPCA it was at, to bring it out to me thought 'he' was a mouse... so I was really had no clue what i really was adopting LOL Yesterday my beautiful niece was born, Isabella. And so when I picked up the prettiest little female dwarf hammy I ever have seen, my Mom suggested I name her after Isabella LOL, So here are some crappy cell phone pictures of Isabella my new hammy She is very friendly, and seems young. She LOVED the wheel, as soon as she figured it out she was in it all night. I had to removed the full plastic Habitrail one b/c her legs would fall through the little hole in the middle, she is THAT tiny (My last dwarfs used it no problem).

The photos ARE pretty crappy! Nice name connection there, with your new niece. You can call her Izzy for short! Be sure she can't squeeze in through the bars, and I assume you sexed her yourself. Glad she likes the wheel so much. I have many such cages here unused I need to clean; the problem is I need them for mice, and the bars are too far apart. The Habitrail Mini for Mice is in use. I have the same kind of wheels. An 8" with mice is hiiarious as ten will be on there at once, some running and some just hanging on and spinning I am out to get a ten inch wheel, and maybe a rat. With poor Lester's death I have a big empy GP cage, two in fact from earlier. The adult rats can't squeeze through. But I also have to spray them for mites, and clean everything. Always fun - not. The permethrin granules were not that effective; I could use more and maybe I will another time. But I consider that a little risky. Best to both Isabellas! Hope you are dealing with the loss of Bo as well as you can. I have planned to take lots of critter photos, now that the flora season in the gardens is about over. Soon.

BTW, I don't think they make those kind of cages and water bottles any more. Right?

Does she look somewhat like this? If so, then she really IS the prettiest little dwarfie you've ever seen, because Jayde was the prettiest little dwarfie I'VE ever seen! Lucky lucky you! And lucky lucky Isabella for becoming your furchild! Congratulations! Enjoy her!

Jaydee looks lovely. But. distressingly, I remember a dwarf I had who could match her in beauty. So, I just looked through my Memorial Gallery. . . but could not find him! Did I not add him there?! I shall look elsewhere later. . . OK, I did look, and it is Jerry. Saw him in a Picturetrail album. Prince is there, also. I will make sure they are both in the Memorial Gallery, which I will update this month. I may not have time for a burial tomorrow. Likely Monday or Tuesday.

Pinky, Yes she is very similar, Izzy has black eyes though, and the brown is like a straight line along the bottom of her. She really looks like a two-tone car interior LOL, or like she's wearing a large white saddle on her back. She's so fast i am not sure I could get a photo of her LOL. I feel she is young, as she seems much quicker then my last set.
DF, I have so many water bottles/holders etc. not sure how/where i got them for some. I like that one because it's nice and small for one little dwarfie, so i will refill it often where a big one i wouldn't as much. I'm not sure what will be her permenent home, i think i want to build her soemthing big and fun, but after we have hand trained her some. i want her to be social, and not just hide in a huge house.

My point was those small Habitrail bottles cannot be replaced if damaged or lost.
Hope you get a good photo.
I need to recheck my Memorial Gallery photos. . . back later.

I've checked my Memorial Gallery, and Jerry the dwarf was in it! Glad I did not miss. But this is a nice photo of him, and I added it to the other. His fur was more shiny golden than in this photo.

Jerry looks like my last dwarf hammy, Sonny. (one of Happy's brothers, the last of 5 to pass away).
I've been told Izzy is proabably 'silvering', my guess is she was a brown colour to start and she is molting into a silver/white.
I've been trying to get her used to my hand, showing her the hadn means she gets to run around and do something new. Yesterday she got to play in the sand bath tank. She didn't quite get the 'bath' part LOL, but that sometimes take a little time. She's not really taking treats from me, not a huge fan of fresh veggies/leaves yet either. She's moved her bed twice, she's back into the hut. She;s still obcessed with her wheel, and loves to run. I would love to give her a bigger space now, but i want to have her somewhat bonded to em first so it's easier to catch her.

Robin is back--under the weather, but back.
Andrea, I'd say yes, she's silvering for sure. Jayde was a silvering dove. Izzy has black eyes, so she's not a dove. Does she have a colored belly?
