Want split screens for introductions? I brought two dollars worth of steel mesh to an art supply store and had them make two wooden frames to specifications. They then stapled the mesh to the frame. $5 per frame. No fuss, no muss. It is that easy.

inexpensive sp ;D And they do work--so long as the mesh gauge is thick enough, but it can be easily replaced.

I didn't hit the N key? Oh...fiddlesticks. Don't they try to gnaw at it though?

That's why I mentioned the gauge! If the mesh isn't thick enough SOME of them SOMETIMES might get through. I think I know which is thickest enough to work.

Ya I tried a mesh, the screen door stuff and my gerbils chewed a hole right through it.
I love inexpencive ideas! i'm actually writting an article for our newsletter (for SARS BC) on how to get inexpencive toys and stuff for your critters.

As I said, the right gauge mesh they will not gnaw through; it depends on the gerb, and whether the mesh is nice and taught. The gauge above is not quite as thick as I wanted (thicker was unavailable in three hardware stores) but it is very tight and taught, so they will be hard-pressed to get their incisors in it.
