Aw, the mini horse was so cute. Will he grow any bigger? I only ask because Tippy, the mini horse we have a Paws is bigger than that little one. He looks like a colt still.
The goat, is he a Toggenburg? I only ask again because that's what Mousse is (half anyway) at Paws.
They're all cute!!

The Mini is just a baby, the lady has two mares and a Stallion. So he will grow some. The goat I have no clue, I'm thinking some kind of pygmy sicne they are not to big, but then I am not 100%. I've always wanted my own goat, I want to have one one day And teh pom, she was so sweet, my friends i showed the picture to are convinced she's a Ewok. LOL

I wanted a pom until I met a few... I'll enjoy them from a distance! I love the big fluffies, and yes, my niece calls them "Ewok Doggies".

You want a goat? Come to Paws and you may rethink your decision. They chew on everything (and I mean everything) and their poop is so small and they can walk and poop at the same time. They pull hard when walked and....nope...well to each his/her own!

I've had goats before out on the farm, they're awesome. Yes, they are basically Houdini walking garbage disposals with minds of their own, but they're still hilarious.

When I look at the pics you post I have to admit I get a little jealous. I've been a city girl my whole life but I love animals and beautiful land and I wish I had more of that in my life now that I'm getting older. The little horses are charming and the goat.... I love goats. When we go to any festival with a petting zoo I always seek out the baby goats. I love when they rub their little horns against my hands. You are very lucky.

I don't regret moving out here because of the great scenery and all the animals. I used to have to drive quite far to ride horses sometimes where I was, here they are everywhere LOL. Same with ATVing, it's not a 15 min drive up the mountain, instead of 45 to an hour.
One thing though, out here peoples thoughts on animals are much different and 'old school' then it is closer to the city. That can be stressful for me, but i try to relate and elarn, and educate where I can without making enemies.

If you don't mind, explain how they perceive animals differently. Not playing dumb, I really don't know.

Well some people still don't spay and neuter their animals, or vaccinate them, and if they get sick they don't take them to the vet, some will even shoot their own animals to 'put them out of their misary'. Some dogs still live outside only, and young farm animals like cattle and goats are still castrated with elastic bands. Now while I do belive soem animals are 'workers' while other pets, i do feel we need to at least try adn keep them healthy and safe, and #1 stop over producing animals that have no where to go. Popular here is breeding and eating rabbits as well. A little story, when I moved here I was reading the local paper and the lead story was about a woman complaining her dog was in hospital in critical condition after being shot multiple times. It ended up her wolf cross dog would just leave her property and wander to the other farms, while there killing famers calves. Famers loosing calves loose money, they put up signs "who's dog it this" and never got a responce, so one day after a few more cows dead, a few local farmers got in a pickup truck and hunted down that dog, when they found him on the side of the road wandering they open fire on him.... but didn't kill him. That poor dog was in the ditch dying before someone found him. I was in total shock, i asked Ryan "Where the hell have we moved to!?!?" But I see both sides fo the story, these farmers are loosing money, if it was a bear or a cougar killing the cows they would shoot them too. But picturing famers in the back of their pick-up with rifles driving down the road really scared me. I blame the Lady who owned the wolf cross dog for not training him, and making sure he was SAFE on her property. I do think the famers should have called animal control, and not had tried to deal with this on their own (though they did try to find the owner before, with no respocne they thought it a stray). I found a young Huskey running loose in my own neighbourhood late at night, no one had ever seen that dog, and all the neighbours who walk their dogs sort of know one another. I found her owner who tells us she just lets the dog run in the back field at night.... she's had the dog a year and has never been seen walking her once... a huskey!
