I had a GREAT time last year. Seven hours flew by. It is back this weekend. I will be there. www.akc.org/meet_the_breeds/>>Meet the Breeds, hosted by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) will return to the Jacob Javits Center in New York City on October 16th and 17th, 2010. Last year’s 36,000 attendees enjoyed 200 individually decorated official breed booths that allowed dog and cat lovers to interact with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens and learn about their history and unique attributes directly from the experts; 100 vendor booths offered every imaginable product for pets and their owners; and five ongoing demonstration rings featured law enforcement K9s, grooming, agility, obedience and an interactive ‘Cat Idol’ showcase and more. The event was also a big hit with the press, generating more than 475 million media impressions. Come join us as we introduce them to the wonderful world of dogs and cats, in the media capital of the world.<<

The Beagle that I had not long ago was a purebred. His daddy was a champion show dog and made it on the cover of Hunters and Hounds magazine. Cody was born the runt of the litter and wasn't show quality. I miss my Beagle Boy soooo much! I have to memorialize him soon and post pics of him and Rhythm.

The Beagle that I had not long ago was a purebred ^All Beagles are purebred unless they have another dog mixed with them, then they're a mixed breed.
But that's cool that he was on a magazine! And have fun there, Tom. Pet my favorite breeds for me!

I specifically used the word purebred to state that he wasn't mixed with another breed. I could have just said I owned a Beagle then someone might have responded " was he purebred or mixed?" I figured I would make it a clear comment the first time around.

When i think "Pure Bred" I think registered.... I dunno why but I do. Maybe b/c we have so many backyard breeders out here to claim to have 'pure breds' but no family history on them. Have a great time Tom, take some pic's if you can... specially if you see a Canaan dog! It's a breed we are researching a bit here

Sorry Lyn. I love dogs, so when you say Beagle, I automatically think purebred. And pure breeds are basically 100% of that breed. Backyard breeders can over breed purebreds, but sometimes they do do mutts.
Canaan dogs are awesome!!! What color would you get it in Andrea? Black/white or tan?

No problem Katie. I'm sorry if my post seemed acidy. When it comes to texting on a phone or posting on the computer alot of times things are taken the wrong way. Just keep in mind that I'm a layed back person. The only time I get nasty is when I feel that I've been wronged by someone. Please don't apologize. I can't wait to get some pics of Cody and Rhythm posted. My partner knows how to do it, so I have to wait until some time is freed up.

No worries and you're right. A lot of times people take things the wrong way; I've done that a lot, so my usual thing is "I'm sorry". Then I hear the "stop saying sorry" ;D

I like the Black & Whites, but Ryan does not. I also like the tri coloured even though they are a fault and could never be shown, I think they are beautiful.

Yeah, I've only seen a couple pictures, adn a breeders site I was looking at went into the colours in detail, and mentioned the Tri's were not considered 'correct' and could not be showen. To bad, I think they are stunning, but then i love Tri colours with white, more colour the better to me LOL
(Also notice they sorta have a 'Whizz' look to them too? I think that may have been what made us more interested in the breed)
