www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17367689Just randomly looking the other night, and found this. I've been in touch with the rescue. . . . we'll see. . . . the lady told me that in her previous home Ping was kept where there were cats milling around her cage and batting at the plastic trying to get at her. Horrible!

"No photo available".
You need all the accesories? Older stuff does wear out or get soiled. . .
Best wishes.

"No photo available". You need all the accesories? Older stuff does wear out or get soiled. . . Best wishes. Right--no photo. The contact at the rescue described her as sable-colored, so I am thinking that she's a dilute black. I bought all new stuff for Ethel so I won't need anything. It's all clean and bleached so I'm ready to bring a new critter home. Just need a new water bottle--I never carry those over from one to another. Snow here again, but unlike yesterday's precip this is sticking. A couple inches predicted.

But the new girl comes with all that stuff. . . you can always tell them to keep it for another needy dwarf?

Exactly. That's what I would do.
Now I think she's a normal agouti, since she has a white belly. Like Mallory, then. I actually love that coloring.
I will fill out the application soon.

Ha! We all here would pass with flying colors! I looked at the application, which is designed for rabbits but we're using it anyway. She's pretty careful when making matches, it seems.
I am starting to get excited about having a new ham. . . but would Ping want to come into my home knowing that her three female predecessors died prematurely from the same type of ailment? Well, it has nothing to do with me--it's more about inbred pet-store hamsters with genetic vulnerabilities.

The question should be would Ping want to enter a home with a human mommy that will love and take care of her until the time comes when God calls her to the rainbow bridge. If I were Ping I would be doing a hammy dance for you every time you see her til you take her home. Go get Ping! And as far as the inbred pet store hammies go...they need a home too. I know that is promoting the continuation of pet store sales, but it's hard to leave them there. It's not the hammies fault. Go get Ping!

>>Ha! We all here would pass with flying colors!<< You have forgotten the notorious "Empty Cages Collective" misadventure. Had a rescued gerb (Hermione) who I successfully split-caged with other females--hard to do, and I was also lucky. But the first two died within a few months. The third one 'stuck", and they lived together for many months. So, go figure: just the luck of the draw.

Visiting Saturday at 11:30 am. . . P.S. Drama this week when our furnace became intermittent and Frasier had a two-night sleepover at a friend's to insure his warmth. And he's sleeping at the vet's tonight since he has a tooth trim early tomorrow. The vet offered to board him for free since the weather will be dicey in the AM. Does it bother him that his sleepovers don't come with friends attached?! ;D

Cute story.
Best tomorrow.
You ever have heat issues resulting in boarding? After what happened in early July here I had some rats ion a ten gallon tank in the bedroom, which was the only room with a working a/c; the living room a/c stopped cooling.
