If a self colored rat was bred to a hooded rat, what patterns would the young be? Is either a more dominant gene than the other?

It depends whether the rats were "pedigree" as it were, like if the self's lineage was completely selfs and if the hooded's was completely hoodeds, then I'm pretty sure you would just end up with selfs and hoodies, although don't quote me on that, I'm not a breeder and don't recommend breeding rats to anyone, no matter how responsible. There are far too many unwanted rats in the world already.

Don't worry... I'm not planning any breeding... I was just curious. Thanx for the reply, though!

I've wondered about hamster breeding questions, also. Just out of curiosity.
It would be nice if there was a web site somewhere that answered all those sort of genetic questions, be it about rats or hamsters, or whatever.

Yes, one that answered simple questions without the use of a complicated genitics engine!
