Wondered why Francine, the cockatiel acted differently: sitting on furniture behind some stuff, hiding, and aggressive postures with wings and beaks. Onusual chirping too. Found an egg today!! Too bad it is unfertilized. Neither the Lovebird (Felicity) or the Quaker (Candy) have ever laid an egg. But that proves nothing about gender.

The chickens used to do that all the time at Paws. We would give the eggs to the animals to eat, but it was hard to explain to the kids that they wouldn't hatch. Thankfully the parents could help them out there if we couldn't.
But yeah, they would still defend them. That's still neat that Francine or any kind of bird can still lay an egg without assistance from the male.
