I found a couple of big, greenish (and kinda smelly) poops in the cage a while ago. Any thoughts on what would cause that? I can't think of anything unusual they've eaten lately. I *did* give them a tiny piece of dog bone (Milkbone) back on Sunday. Not sure what colour, and I would have thought it would have been pooped out by now They've had a tad more bok choy than usual the last few days. I noticed they've (finally) taken notice of the chew sticks they've had in their cage, and lost interest in. As far as I can tell, they've only moved them around. One is a bright teal clolour. It *was* sitting in the little trough you see on SuperPet shelves, which had a bit of water in it (and Hugh sometimes licks at that water before I can get it up). I'm guessing that's the culprit, but want to make sure there's not a health issue that makes poop green. Thanks! Linda

I have never heard of a health condition causing green poop in rodents. I have seen very green poop in them directly after feeding them brocolli, and maybe other greens. My father once was shocked to see his red poops after eating beets! Cut out the greens and chlorophyll for awhile and see if that affects a change. Again, I have never heard of any medical condition that results in green poops. My father once had white poops - but that was because his bile secretions were blocked by a stomach tumor. Interesting discussion here! LOL BTW, lay off the lettuce, of course - no nutritional value and prone to causing the runs (non-green).
