You have to check this site out! www.herorats.orgIt is about giant Gambian pouched rats being trained to hunt land mines in Africa. And that site is wild and great fun! The above old link is now defunct. Try this one: LINK HEREBut now they are also sniffing out Tuberculosis!

I don't know the first thing about Minesweeper, but the whole concept of sniffing rats is way cool!

Just saw the stpory of these rats on the Globetrekker TV show which is in Mozambique right now hunting land mines.
The rats are very friendly and cuddly, and about the size of a medium-sized rabbit. Make a nice pet, a pair of them.

Those are brave rats and it's neat how animals can help people out.

It reminded me of dogs detecting epileptic seizures before they happen.
I heard some animals can sniff out cancer.

I heard they can too and have seen it on tv, it's quite amazing what animals can do. I heard the Navy was using dolphins to see if there was an enemy bomb near by and others stuff. It's really cool how they use animals to help.

In World War One they discovered that the very best way to clean out infected terrible wounds was to dump maggots in them. True story.

True indeed.
I recall reading somewhere that there is still a place for maggots in modern medicine. . .
