Forwarded from another group:
I just saw a preview of this new Fox comedy show "Unhitched" where they chase a rat into the kitchen and into the microwave and then turn it on while one guy was saying that it was the longest 9 minutes of his life and another saying the rat looked so happy spinning around on the plate: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! PLEASE WRITE THEM ABOUT THIS EVIL STORYLINE: Unhitched TV Show - Unhitched Television Show - TV.com That's all I can find except that it premieres on March 2...

I saw that on a preview and my Mom and I were shocked that they could do something like that or even put that on the air. As soon as I'm feeling better, I'll write.

I am posting that on the AGS board, and the rmca.org board. You should post in the latter also. You need to also contact the Humane Society, ASPCA, and PeTA. I had written to the SPCA about another similar sort of thing on tv. In that case, it was a reality show, and apparently they have no jurisdiction on those, which REALLY sucks!
I'm assuming the rat in question is fake, which is beside the point, IMO - any depiction of cruelty to animals is unacceptable.
I'm not sure if I'm imagining this reply from them, or if someome told me about it some time ago: you know that ole "no animals were harmed in the making of this film" disclaimer, apparently that applies to actual animals. If it's a fake, or a depiction with cgi etc, they can't do anything about it, since "no animal was hamred". Not sure 100% about that, but I seem to recall hearing that, which is just not right!
Even if they have no legal recourse over fake animals, I hope that they can put pressure on them and help reiterate what the viewers are saying.

Of course they have no legal jurisdiction.
All these groups I mentioned above have moral pressure and economic pressure, and the same goes for us boycotting sponsors. If Fox keeps this up, complain to sponsors!

BTW, obviously they did not kill a real rat on TV - that WOULD be something for the ASPCA being a crime. But the idea oif this is horrible, and it gives idiots ideas.
